Daily Schedule

Kids thrive on schedules and structure. Some pointers:

*Set a wake up time each day

*Get dressed, take care of personal hygiene, eat breakfast etc.

*Do the assignments that are most difficult/uninteresting FIRST

*Be sure to get outside for some physical activity (30 minutes daily) - bike rides, walking, running, swimming etc. (using social distancing rules)

Here are the guidelines for how long students should be working in each course/platform rule of thumb: use the 45/15 rule - up to 45 minutes of work, 15 minute brain break - have a snack, stretch, go outside, draw, talk to family members etc.

If you are currently an ADAPT client, they are continuing to provide services virtually. If you are having difficulty reaching your assigned therapist, please contact them at Ormond@adapt-fl.com

Insurance:

Do you need health and dental insurance for your child or children due to losing your job because of Covid-19?

Florida KidCare offers free, subsidized and full-pay options based on family income. Most families pay nothing at all, and may pay as little as just $15 or $20 a month for all children in the household. Families who do not qualify for free or subsidized coverage may purchase a competitively priced full-pay plan.

You can apply online, using the link below. If you have questions, or need assistance to apply online, please call Halifax Health – Healthy Communities at 386.425.7920.

Tip for parents/students/staff:

Self-care isn't selfish, it's essential. No-one's perfect. But so often we compare our insides to other people's outsides. This month we're encouraging everyone to be kinder to themselves (as well as others), especially when things go wrong. Self-care increases our resilience and helps us get more out of life. It also helps us accept others as they are too.
