This was supposed to be tournament week at The Landings

THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE BEGINNING OF A BUSY COUPLE OF WEEKS OF PROFESSIONAL GOLF HERE IN OUR REGION THE SAVANNAH GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP THE MASTERS THE RBC HERITAGE, OF COURSE, THOSE EVENTS POSTPONED OR O DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC OUT OF THE DEER CREEK COURSE AT THE LANDINGS JUST A FEW AMATEUR GOLFERS HITTING THE LINKS THIS WEEK AS OF NOW. THE PGA TOUR HAS THE SAVANNAH GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP LISTED AS POSTPONED THE FIRST ROUND OF THE KORN FERRY TOUR EVENT WAS SCHEDULED TO TEE OFF THURSDAY MORNIN FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR THE SAVANNAH GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP STAFF HAD PREPARED FOR THIS WEEK THEIR CHANCE TO HIT A HOLE-IN-ONE WITH GOLFERS AND GOLF FANS ALIKE. WELL, I WAS A LITTLE STRANGE NOT HAVING THE PROS BATTLING FOR THE SEERSUCKER JACKET THIS WEEK TOURNAMENT. VISORS THOUGH. THE TOURNAMENT WILL BE BACK AND THANKS TO THE COUNTLESS VOLUNTEERS SPONSORS AND FANS. IT WILL BE BIGGER A BETTER THAN EVER BEFORE IT’S BEEN SO SO REITERATED AND PROVEN TO US THAT WE ARE BETTER TOGETHER, YOU KNOW, JUST HONESTLY AN OUTPOURING SUPPORT AND LOVE FOR OUR TOURNAMENT AND OUR TEAM AND AND JUST INCREDIBLE REACTIONS FROM OUR PARTNERS WHO ARE INVESTED IN THIS TOURNAMENT VOLUNTEERS WHO GIVE THEIR TIME AND TALENTS OUR FANS EVERYBODY, YOU KNOW, WE FELT GRATEFUL T HEAR FROM PEOPLE THAT THEY WERE ALSO YOU KNOW DISAPPOINTED THAT THE TOURNAMENT WAS GOING TO BE POSTPONED. SO CAN’T SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT PEOPLE’S REACTIONS. IT REALLY FED OUR TEAM AND HELPED U CONTINUE TO MOVE THROUGH. YOU KNOW, WHAT THE SAFEST OPTION WAS FOR ALL OF OUR FANS AND AND WE’RE FOREVER GRATEFUL FOR THAT. THAT’S A LOOK AT SPORTS.

It was supposed to be the beginning of a couple busy weeks of professional golf in our area.However, The Savannah Golf Championship, The Masters and the RBC Heritage all postponed or cancelled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.First to the tee was the Korn Ferry Tour here in Savannah.This week was supposed to be tournament week at The Landings. Today, only a handful of amateurs hitting the links at the Deer Creek Course.The third annual Savannah Golf Championship listed as postponed, but the tournament staff still excited about the future of the event."There has been such an outpouring of love and support for our tournament and our team, " says Tournament Director Cheyenne Overby.While it's a little strange not having the professionals battling for the Seersucker jacket this week, tournament organizers know when it comes time to tee-it-up, the event will be bigger and better than ever."So many people were disappointed that the tournament was postponed, but the amazing partners, volunteers and fans really make it easy to keep spirits up," adds Overby.Right now, all tours under the PGA Tour umbrella have cancelled or postponed their events through May 17.
