On 5 February 2018, the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People held its 388th meeting and the first meeting for the current year at the UN headquarters in New York. In a session presided over by the Secretary-General, the Committee conducted the annual election for the Bureau. All incumbent Bureau members were re-elected by acclamation. The Committee also approved its Program of Work for 2018 by consensus.
The composition of the Bureau for 2018 is as follows:
Chair: Senegal
Vice-Chairs: Afghanistan, Cuba, Indonesia, Namibia, Nicaragua
Rapporteur: Malta
Observer: State of Palestine.
