#TogetherSI: Stories of connection and hope during the coronavirus crisis

TogetherSI

When crisis hits, Staten Island comes together.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Even though we’re physically apart -- we have been separated from those we love for so long now -- we at the Advance/SILive.com believe now is the time to find ways to come together.

Creating and celebrating those connections are the cornerstones of our #TogetherSI initiative.

With this project, the Advance/SILive.com provides daily programming that connects Staten Islanders to crucial news and to each other, and we share stories from those in our community who are also connecting and inspiring others during this crisis.

Importantly, we also want to keep Staten Islanders connected with local businesses that are owned and operated by our neighbors.

This has always been our lane at the Advance/SILive.com, and we are leaning into these connections, more now than ever.

STORIES OF HOPE

Every single day, in the middle of so much heartache, Staten Islanders are finding ways to do good, bring their neighbors joy and add light to a dark time.

From children hand-making masks, to Staten Islanders who are feeding first responders to businesses stepping up to raise money (even as they struggle to survive) for personal protective equipment for health care workers, the Advance/SILive.com is documenting these inspiring stories.

In addition to our programming, you’ll find these stories, which connect us through their humanity and hope, on the #TogetherSI page.
