Each day I wonder what happened to good parenting. Bernie Sanders, a self-proclaimed socialist is the leading Democratic Party candidate for President, primarily supported by the 18- to 29-year-old voters.
These voters have little, if any, life experiences to draw from when making decisions about politics and life. They are taught by extreme leftist college professors who have drilled into their minds the belief that free stuff is an inherent right.
However, where are the parents of these aforementioned idealists? As a parent, we have the experience, knowledge and responsibility to teach our kids “nothing is free” is not just some quip, but born out of the truth. We must teach them to understand history and see that socialism, for all its promises, never works.
The elite politicians are the only ones who become wealthy in socialist societies and both the poor and middle class become poorer and worse off. Rich people leave for greener shores. It doesn’t matter if you’re a Democrat or Republican, liberal, moderate or conservative, educate your children and young adults that they will “pay for it later” if America becomes a socialist nation.
And Bernie, Denmark is not a socialist government. Just ask them.
