The Community College of Aurora is a dynamic institution that strives to serve its diverse staff and student population founded on principles of equity and inclusion. This staff member will be responsible for engaging local industry partners to support the growth and development of new and existing academic programs at CCA. The position will be housed in the Center for Health, Professional Studies, Public Service, and STEM, supporting the needs of six distinct departments within the Center.

As a member of the Colorado Community College System (CCCS), the Community College of Aurora (CCA) is dedicated to serving our surrounding community.  As the most diverse institution of higher education in Colorado, CCA is currently the college choice for nearly 11,400 students representing over 60 countries, with 62% of our enrollment represented by students of color. In 2016, CCA was designated as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI).  CCA’s service area includes more than 680,000 residents in Arapahoe, Adams, and Denver counties, and its student population reflects the broad diversity of this area. The college offers more than 90 degrees and certificate programs for students seeking to enhance their current skill set, pursue employment, or transfer to a four-year college or university upon graduation.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 
 

  • Works closely with the Dean of Academic Affairs in developing and executing a strategic plan for significantly expanding the portfolio of companies recruiting and sponsoring  (including clinical sites) CCA students.
  • Effectively and innovatively manages and grows client relationships, maintaining strong relationships with key liaisons in each industry.
  • Acts proactively in pursuing partnerships based on assessments of student needs, knowledge of growth industries, and insight into strategic industries. 
  • Identifies and capitalizes on existing points of leverage, such as alumni connections, faculty networks, and personal contacts to open new relationships with employers. 
  • Tailors outreach methods to partners of all types and sizes, from large-scale marquee employers to small startups.
  • Works with discipline chairs to align academic programs with organizational needs.
  • Works with staff across various functional teams to ensure smooth processes, collaboration and compliance.
  • Attends, presents, and/or exhibits at key partner meetings to represent CCA and to showcase CCA’s capabilities and academic offerings.
  • Supports and coordinates relevant industry site visits.
  • Oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Center’s advisory boards and actively pursues ways to engage those partners in mutually beneficial ways.
  • Performs Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Advanced degree preferred. 
  • Strong track record in business development, which could include university/college employer relations, development/advancement, industry sales and marketing, or corporate HR and recruiting. 
  • Demonstrated capacity to produce results against established metrics. 
  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach: relationship-builder with the ability to foster partnership and collaboration. 
  • Creativity and an affinity for using novel approaches to improve results. 
  • High degree of motivation, energy, persistence, and follow-through. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, presentation, and communication skills. 
  • A positive attitude with high standard of personal integrity and professionalism 
  • A strong desire to advance the cause of undergraduate and graduate business students and create new opportunities
   
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  • Graduate degree or industry experience in one of the Center disciplines
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively with industry partners
 

Salary Range:  Salary range is $57,500.00-$59,000.00. This salary is determined by the qualifications of the selected candidate balanced with departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information. CCA offers an excellent benefit plan. Leave and holiday benefits are also included. Full time employees immediately upon hire earn 15 hours a month annual leave and 10 hours a month sick leave.
