What’s Covered

GlobalProtect VPN (Virtual Private Network) provides off-campus faculty & staff with secure remote access to the College’s secure network so that they can have the same on campus network experience & access from a remote location.

You need a VPN connection to remotely access the Internal page, Banner, & the College’s Network Drives (G, H & P).


How to Install

GlobalProtect VPN is already installed on all College issued laptops.

You will need to install GlobalProtect VPN if you are using a personal computer or mobile device.

NOTE: Users will not be able to install GlobalProtect VPN on a personal device if the device is on-campus connected to the SJCD-Secure WiFi.


How to Find VPN on your computer

Click the Start button & you will find the GlobalProtect VPN icon located under Palo Alto Networks.

GlobalProtect can also be located in the “hidden icons” in the system tray on your PC.

How to Sign-in to VPN

The first time you sign-in to GlobalProtect, you will be required to enter your College credentials & the portal address to the College. Please follow the steps below to ensure GlobalProtect VPN is set up correctly.

1. Open GlobalProtect VPN

2. Type in the portal address “vpn.sjcd.edu

3. Click Connect.

4. Enter your College network credentials.

Username = FirstName.LastName

Password = College Password

5. Click Sign In.

How To End Your VPN Session

To disconnect your VPN session, click Disconnect.
