One of three companies in the business service category to be recognized by the Ethisphere® Institute for ethical leadership
Charlotte, North Carolina – Premier Inc. (NASDAQ: PINC), a leading healthcare improvement company, has been named one of the 2019 World’s Most Ethical Companies® by the Ethisphere® Institute. This year’s recognition marks the 12th straight year that Premier has received the Ethisphere Institute designation.
A global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices, the Ethisphere Institute selected Premier for continuing to be a “driving force in improving communities, building capable and empowered workforces, and fostering corporate cultures focused on ethics and a strong sense of purpose.”
“At Premier, we recognize the value of integrity of the individual, the enterprise and our alliance,” said Susan DeVore, president and CEO, Premier. “Integrity is foundational to achieve successful business operations and relationships, as well as a fair, respectful and constructive workplace that supports employees in meeting their professional aspirations. It’s an honor for Premier to be recognized for the daily commitment we make to operate with integrity at every level as we work to fulfill our higher calling to heal the U.S. healthcare system.”
Premier’s corporate compliance program encompasses an array of regulatory and legal requirements, including rigorous codes of conduct for its Board, employees, corporation and supply chain services. The program also includes strict business rules and employee education strategies, privacy and security practices, and complete Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and anti-trafficking agendas.
“Premier continues to cultivate trust while leading its employees and the Charlotte community with a purposed-driven vision of the future,” said Ethisphere’s CEO Timothy Erblich. “Premier, along with each one of its employees, deserves this recognition.”
Premier is also a founding member of the Healthcare Group Purchasing Industry Initiative (HGPII), a voluntary association dedicated to ethical conduct and business practices, and to serving the confidence of the public and government officials.
The World's Most Ethical Companies assessment is based upon the Ethisphere Institute’s Ethics Quotient® (EQ) framework, which offers a quantitative way to assess a company’s performance in an objective, consistent and standardized manner. The information collected provides a comprehensive sampling of definitive criteria of core competencies rather than all aspects of corporate governance, risk, sustainability, compliance and ethics. Scores are generated in five key categories: ethics and compliance program (35 percent), culture of ethics (20 percent), corporate citizenship and responsibility (20 percent), governance (15 percent) and leadership and reputation (10 percent). All companies that participate in the assessment process receive their scores, providing them with valuable insights into how they stack up against leading organizations.
