Reading aloud to kids, with no flashy technology. Just a reader and a book. It’s the perfect way to entertain and help kids learn while their schooling is disrupted due to the coronavirus pandemic.
When the reader is Josh Gad, who plays Olaf on Disney’s “Frozen,” the entertainment level goes way up.
Gad began a 10-minute story time for his fans, reading every evening on Twitter since March 13. He said “since we’re all stuck at home right now, I figured we would have a little fun together.”
And fun it is! Children, and adults will enjoy listening as Gad uses his voice acting skills to make the stories come alive. Readings so far include: “Olivia Goes to Venice,” by Ian Falconer; “The Day the Crayons Quit,” by Drew Daywalt; “The Giving Tree,” by Shel Silverstein; and “Hooray for Diffendoofer Day” by Dr. Seuss.

The 39-year-old Florida native, and father of two, plans to continue the live story times through the foreseeable future.
