Oregon Gov. Kate Brown released detailed guidelines Friday regarding her new mask-wearing order to lay out exactly what individuals and businesses in the seven affected counties are required to do starting Wednesday.

People ages 12 and older must cover their faces while in stores, on the bus, riding Uber or Lyft and at the gym, the guidelines issued by the Oregon Health Authority say. The rule applies to public indoor spaces.

Businesses must provide masks for their employees but don’t have to provide them to customers or visitors, although they are encouraged to do so. The protective gear must cover both nose and mouth.

Children, people with medical conditions that make it hard to breathe and people with disabilities that make it difficult for them to comply with face covering rules are all exempt from the requirements.

The rules will apply to Multnomah, Washington, Clackamas, Hood River, Lincoln, Marion and Polk counties.
