All of Michigan’s 110 state House seats are up for election next week — and a handful of those races could make the difference in who controls the majority next session.

The party with the most seats in the state House has a critical advantage when it comes to setting the chamber’s agenda and policy priorities. Currently, Republicans hold a slim majority and are hoping to hold onto it this fall, but Democrats see the 2020 cycle as their opportunity to flip control of the House.

All responses in the voter guide were submitted directly by the candidate and have not been edited by the League of Women Voters, except for a necessary cut if a reply exceeded character limitations. Spelling and grammar were not corrected. Publication of candidate statements and opinions is solely in the interest of public service and should NOT be considered as an endorsement.
