Even though I read this book as a project for college, I've enjoyed it very much. It gave me a closer look of what a conference interpreter is, feels and thinks. Thank you, Danica Seleskovitch. I still got the goal of being a conference interpeter, let's see how the road gets and what else will I learn.
A fascinating commentary on the work of interpretation. The exploration of the interpreting process helped me to better understand my own work as well as to think critically about my own limitations and how I might become a better practitioner.
I'm so glad I reread this 18 years later. It might be almost 40 years old, but time doesn't change it. An incredible explanation of what interpreters do, and a reminder that we should be interpreting consecutively more often.
