2023 Eliminate Tobacco Use Day Celebration

Eliminate Tobacco Use Day is an annual event dedicated to building tobacco-free cultures on campuses. ETU Day was celebrated on November 16, 2023, and serves as a reminder of the severe health risks associated with smoking, vaping and other forms of tobacco use. It’s also an opportunity for campuses to promote tobacco and vaping prevention, campus tobacco-free policy and cessation services. The spirit of ETU Day is rooted in public health advocacy, encouraging individuals and communities to actively participate in efforts to eliminate tobacco use and its harmful effects. Celebrating the 2023 Eliminate Tobacco Use National and State Summits

The Eliminate Tobacco Use (ETU) National Summit 2023 on April 27th called together tobacco control advocates both virtually and in-person at the University of Texas Southwestern Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center in Dallas, Texas. The summit was hosted by The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in partnership with the University of Texas System and incorporated the voices of ETU state leadership from Missouri, New Jersey, Texas and Virginia. Attendees were welcomed by initiative founders Dr. Ernest Hawk and Dr. David Lakey and Director Jennifer Cofer.
