INDIA – Partnered with United Way Mumbai to support healthcare initiatives in 48 critically affected public hospitals across eight states, providing PPE, hygiene kits, ICU beds and non-contact thermometers. A donation drive in Karnataka in partnership with Samarthanam Trust benefited 15,000 public servants, including medical professionals, sanitation workers, police, and community health workers.

Promoting Recycling and Supporting Waste Pickers

CHILE – Partnering with Circulael Plástico and the Chilean Plastics Pact to launch the "Collecting Life, Recycling in a Pandemic” initiative to promote safe recycling during quarantine; drive awareness about the work of recyclers as key members of the circular plastics economy; and encourage use of technological tools to help waste pickers be more competitive. Around 60,000 people – 60% of whom are women – are dedicated to recycling in Chile.

Supporting Vulnerable Families and Small Businesses

MEXICO – With support from Arca Continental, Industria Mexicana de Coca‑Cola benefited more than 350,000 families in Nuevo Leon, delivering nearly 1 million liters of beverages, 45,000 medical supplies, 20,000 food baskets and 27,000 sanitation kits to communities, and 13,000 safety screens to local store owners.

JAPAN – Installing antiviral/antibacterial film on 30,000 vending machines in high-traffic public areas like train stations and hospitals. The coating is applied to product selection buttons and dispensing slots on the machines, many of which can accommodate multiple prepaid cashless card formats. CokeOn mobile app users can make touch-free purchases.

Protective Countertop Shields for Small Customers

CANADA – Partnering with Sheridan College’s Centre for Advanced Manufacturing and Design Technologies (CAMDT) to produce and distribute protective countertop shields made of PET plastic for cashiers at convenience stores and restaurants. Coca‑Cola Ltd. is investing $75,000 for materials and leading the project, and Coke Canada Bottling is identifying stores and handling delivery.

AUSTRIA – Mineral water brand Römerquelle is giving the hard-hit tourism sector a boost as lockdowns lift by partnering with KRONE media group and the Austrian Hotel Association to launch a “domestic staycation” sweepstakes offering the chance to win one of 100 two-night hotel stays across the country’s nine states.

Promoting Solidarity Through Food

COLOMBIA – Amplifying and accelerating the “Solidarity Menu” program created by restaurant partner Sierra Nevada, which lets Colombians use a mobile app to order meals (with Coca‑Cola beverages) to be delivered to vulnerable residents and Venezuelan migrants in Bogotá’s poorest neighborhoods. More than 50 customers have since joined the effort, delivering 15,000+ meals, to date.

Producing Tubes for COVID-19 Test Kits

USA – Southeastern Container (SEC), a PET bottle manufacturing coop managed by Coca‑Cola bottlers, is producing plastic tubes for use in COVID-19 testing kits. SEC is utilizing existing soda bottle preforms to produce more than 7 million tubes each week in accordance with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and Oak Ridge National Lab.

Hydrating Healthcare Workers and the Elderly

HAITI – Donated more than 150,000 beverages (water and coffee) and 345 gallons of hand sanitizer produced in Brasserie de la Couronne for patients and medical staff in 11 hospitals, as well as several nursing homes. Also installed 100 public hand-washing stations in communities throughout Port au Prince.

URUGUAY AND PARAGUAY – Provided, through the UNDP and USAID, protective gear and medical supplies for hospitals and clinics, and raised funds to purchase 15 ambulances with equipment for intensive treatment centers. Also donated more than 1,300 beverages for personnel and patients.

USA – Teaming up with the Uber Eats meal delivery service to benefit the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization. For every meal purchased via Uber Eats from a participating restaurant through June 28, the partners will donate one meal to people in need, with the goal of donating up to 5 million meals to Feeding America.

RUSSIA – Producing face masks using Coca‑Cola Hellenic’s 3D-printing capability for volunteers distributing food and drinks to vulnerable communities. The shields can be printed on demand and custom-fitted, reducing delivery times. “The COVID-19 outbreak may set the stage for a greater use of 3D-printed kits in the future,” says Zacharias Zachariadis, country manager.

Supporting the Navajo Nation

USA – Swire Coca‑Cola in Arizona and Coca‑Cola Bottling Co. Durango in New Mexico mobilized to provide three truckloads of DASANI water to the Navajo Nation. Serving the region, which has been significantly impacted by COVID-19, can be difficult logistically because of its size and people not living in concentrated areas. Deliveries were coordinated with state governors’ offices.

CHILE – Delivered 10,000 liters of beverages to Hogar de Cristo nursing homes and foundations serving Chilean seniors, with support from Coca‑Cola Andina, via the National Service for the Elderly. Effort benefited 1,500 people.
