CLEVELAND, Ohio — Pitchers and catchers have reported to Cleveland Indians spring training in Goodyear, Ariz. and the hitters aren’t too far behind.
With the first full-squad workout just days away, it’s time to take a look at the biggest position battle on the roster: outfield.
The Indians have nine outfielders on their 40-man roster including Oscar Mercado, Jake Bauers and Franmil Reyes. Newcomer Delino DeShields is eager to show manager Terry Francona what he has to offer and rookie Daniel Johnson is in position to make a positive impression during Cactus League play.
