CLEVELAND, Ohio — Another day on the field, another injury concern for Indians manager Terry Francona. This time, it’s Carlos Carrasco who was spotted limping around the Tribe’s Goodyear Development Complex on Thursday with a cane after injuring his right leg while doing squats.

With Mike Clevinger already on the shelf following knee surgery, the Indians could potentially be down two starting pitchers heading into Saturday’s Cactus League opener against Cincinnati. In tonight’s special edition of the Cleveland Baseball Talk Podcast, Paul Hoynes joins in from Arizona with his thoughts on who needs to step up if Carrasco’s injury turns out to be something long-term.

Hoynsie also breaks down the position battle for utility infielder between Mike Freeman, Christian Arroyo and Yu Chang. Other areas we explore on this special edition of the podcast include:

  • Does Brad Hand think he’ll find the same kind of success this year that he had in early 2019?
  • What changes did Oliver Perez make to his preparation for the season with the three-batter minimum rule looming?
  • Who gave Jose Ramirez a hard time on the practice field after J-Ram took a pitch off his foot?
