COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State basketball will play its most important home game of the season when it faces No. 7 Maryland on Saturday and it will host a special visitor at the game.
Kansas native Kendall Brown of Sunrise Christian High School will be in attendance as part of his second official visit to Columbus. The five-star recruit is rated as the nation’s No. 20 overall player and No. 6 small forward in the class of 2021. He holds offers from 18 schools including Marquette, where he made his first official visit on Oct. 25.
He is the second 2021 recruit to take an official visit in the past two weeks, joining four-star center Logan Duncomb of Archbishop Moeller High School.

Landing Brown would give Buckeyes head coach Chris Holtmann his first five-star commitment as OSU’s head coach, the program’s first since D’Angelo Russell in 2014. He’d also be the first 2021 commitment from outside Ohio, joining Meechie Johnson of Andrews Osborne Academy and Kalen Etzler of Crestview. The two currently have the Buckeyes rated the country’s third-best recruiting class very early in the process.
The Buckeyes have not had a top 10 recruiting class since 2015, and all of those players ended up transferring by the end of their second season. Since then, the classes have ranged from the mid-teens nationally to their 2020 class, which sits at No. 55 with two commitments.
