CLEVELAND, Ohio – As you’ve probably heard, not everyone was happy about Jennifer Lopez and Shakira’s Super Bowl LIV halftime show on Feb. 2.

The game that saw the Kansas City Chiefs defeat the San Francisco 49ers was suspenseful. But the halftime show was nearly as compelling, with Lopez and Shakira belly dancing, twerking and spending some time on a pole.

Some viewers complained on social media that the show as inappropriate for younger viewers. Now, the FCC has revealed it received more than 1,300 complaints from those viewers, according to CNN.

Some suggested the performance was a “porno show” and that it promoted sex trafficking. Others claimed it was reminiscent of what goes on in a strip club. It caused several people to threaten a boycott of Pepsi, the sponsor of the Super Bowl halftime show.

"Jennifer Lopez's gyrating on a stripper pole with her butt and her crotch smack in front of my eyes, my husband and children was an affront to women and children and violates your rules," one person from Tennessee wrote to the FCC. "I will be boycotting Pepsi and their products and unless you can guarantee a decent half time show next year, we will boycott the Super Bowl.

Lopez responded to the complaints earlier this month, calling the entire thing “silliness.”

“I think that’s honestly silliness,” Lopez told Variety. “Both of us are really respectful performers who are moms and have kids and are very conscious of what we do. We (put on) a show that I believe was a celebration of women and our Latino culture that I think was really well reserved. And that small faction of people who want to be negative about it, I can’t even let in.”
