CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland Chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier International is offering a $2,000 scholarship to assist women in the food, wine and hospitality industry.
“We created this scholarship to support and encourage Ohio women who are entering or growing in the culinary field,” said Carol Hacker, chairwoman of the scholarship committee for LDEI Cleveland, in a release. “Helping talented women achieve their educational goals elevates the culinary community for all of us.”
The award is based on academic accomplishments, career goals, culinary experience, references and financial need. Female Ohio residents enrolled in an accredited culinary program are eligible to apply. Applications will be accepted through Sunday, March 1. Winner will be notified by Monday, April 20.
Members of Les Dames d'Escoffier International are professional women in food, beverage and related industries with at least five years' experience. Chapter members share knowledge with one another, within the industry and public. The organization also supports mission-related philanthropic projects.
The organization, which has been around since the 1970s, has 2,400 members in 43 chapters throughout the world.
