Supporting Women in Conflict & Humanitarian Settings Respond to the Global Pandemic

The WPHF COVID-19 Emergency Response Window

Women’s civil-society organizations around the world are playing key roles in efforts to respond to and stem the spread of COVID-19. Their work is particularly critical in contexts of conflict and humanitarian crises.

The Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund COVID-19 Funding Window for local women’s organizations responding to COVID-19 in their communities is now closed. As a funding mechanism designed to support women-led and women’s rights organizations in crisis settings, WPHF is particularly well placed to provide an urgent response to the crisis and its gender dimensions.

The WPHF COVID-19 Emergency Response Window aimed to support grassroots women’s organizations responding to the global pandemic in crises settings through two primary funding streams:

  1. Institutional support for local CSOs working on Women Peace and Security and humanitarian issues whose existence might be threatened by the current COVID-19 crisis.
  2. Programmatic support for local CSOs to prevent and respond to COVID-19 and its gendered dimensions.
