Summer Studio: Window Installations inspired by
Raúl de Nieves for kids ages 14–18

Fri, Aug 7, 2020
11–11:40 am

Online, via Zoom

For 14–18 year olds

Join Whitney educators for free weekly online art classes this summer. Participants will experiment, create, and learn together with at-home art materials.

In the 2017 Whitney Biennial, Raúl de Nieves covered a huge window with everyday materials like paper, wood, glue, and thin, colored plastic sheets. This created a magical effect, like stained glass. He even included a fly, and the words "peace", "love", "truth," "justice," "harmony," and "hope" in his installation. Now it’s your turn! This week you will make your own giant artwork on a window that includes your own images and message.

See all Summer Studio events, including programs for kids, teens, and families.

This event will have automated closed captions through Zoom. Live captioning is available for public programs and events upon request with seven business days advance notice. We will make every effort to provide accommodation for requests made outside of that window of time. To place a request, please contact us at accessfeedback@whitney.org or (646) 666-5574 (voice). Relay and voice calls welcome.
