Are you in the Reserves or National Guard?  Or maybe you’re ready to transition out of the military into a challenging and rewarding career?  Can you work independently?  Be a team player?  Organize  your time and resources to maximum advantage?  Don’t mind getting your hands dirty?

Transfer Skills from Military to Civilian Jobs

NEDA’s agricultural equipment technician apprenticeship maybe the place for you.  Because our apprenticeship is competency based it will enable you to leverage skills you’ve already mastered and the flexibility to earn while you learn. An apprenticeship gives you access to on-the-job training, classroom instruction, other educational and mentor support all focused on helping you expand your knowledge and skill sets that will allow you to advance along a clearly defined career path.

Diesel, hydraulics, electronic control and in some cases, pneumatics, are all woven tightly into today’s agricultural equipment to be larger, more efficient and effective than yesteryear’s equipment.

Often today’s equipment can drive itself, tell the operator how many seeds were placed and where, how much fertilizer was applied, how much was harvested and where, and the list goes on!  Experts tell us we’ll soon have autonomous tractors and/or other specialized equipment and much more.

The following are just a few of the related military codes which might share related skills and competencies with ag equipment technicians.
