Volunteers Needed
On April 26, 2022 more than 150 local high school students will need your help. On that day, students will be participating in practice job interviews as part of the Howard County School System’s Workforce Development Program, Passport to the Future.
Passport to the Future is a Howard County Public Schools (HCPSS) workforce preparation program for students who are enrolled in the Career Research and Development Academy. The Howard County Chamber of Commerce has been a partner with the program since its inception. The program could not be possible without out the support from Howard Community College and The Howard County Human Resources Society. Currently, approximately 150 students participate each year in the program.
The students in the Career Research and Development Academy explore career options, take aptitude and self-assessment tests and learns what is expected in the workplace. The students are required to go through an interview with a member of the business community before they graduate from the program and look for a part-time position while still attending high school. This is where your help is needed.
All of the Passport interviews will take place at Howard Community College. Interviews will be 30 minutes each and will be held in one large room at the college in several groups.
