INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – To the surprise of very few, the Nova Southeastern women's golf team will once again have a chance to compete for a national championship after being picked as the No. 2 seed to come out of the south region on Monday. The nation's third-ranked program is among the 48 teams chosen to participate in super regional play as part of the 2019 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships, with the NCAA South Super Regional set to tee off Monday, May 6 at the Cleveland Country Club in Cleveland, Tenn.
Each of the four sites will consist of both team and individual competition conducted concurrently with 12 teams and six individuals from non-qualifying teams. All participants will compete through the 54 holes of action. The top four teams, along with the top four individuals not with a team, from each super regional will advance to the championships.
Â
The championships will be held from May 14-18 at PGA National Resort and Spa in West Palm Beach, Fla.
Â
The Sharks are one of eight Sunshine State Conference programs to make up the 12-team super regional, joined alongside by Barry, Lynn, Florida Tech, Saint Leo, Florida Southern, Tampa, and Rollins.
Â
Nova Southeastern placed third at the super regional in 2018, and has failed to finish worse than tied for third at the event since back in 2014.
