NSU's Jabir Named to NCAA DII Rowing Committee

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Nova Southeastern Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations, Sports Administration and Business Services Angie Jabir has been appointed to the NCAA Division II Women's Rowing Committee. The appointment is effective September 1, 2019 and will run through August 31, 2023.
 
In her role as a member of the Rowing Committee, Jabir will help to develop policies and procedures governing the administration and conduct of the NCAA Division II Women's Rowing Championship. She will also assist with the selection of the NCAA Championship field, participate in annual meetings, and attend the championship event.
 
Reaching as his as No. 8 this year in the NCAA standings, the NSU Sharks rowing program has cultivated a championship culture in Fort Lauderdale. The Sharks competed in six consecutive NCAA Championships from 2011-16, winning the team National Championship in 2013 and the Varsity Four Championship in 2009. The Sharks compete in the ever-formidable Sunshine State Conference, which currently features three of the top 10 in the national rankings. NSU has garnered six SSC Championships.
 
"The opportunity to represent Nova Southeastern University and the Sunshine State Conference on a national level is an honor and a privilege," said Jabir. "Both have a rich tradition of rowing success. I look forward to working behind the scenes with the committee to ensure a great championship experience for coaches and student-athletes."
 
The Sharks' Senior Woman Administrator, Jabir is in her second year with Nova Southeastern and serves as sport administrator for 10 of NSU's varsity sports teams. She is also responsible for handling all gender equity and Title IX issues, as well as oversight of all reports for NSU to the NCAA and Sunshine State Conference. Jabir also developed NSU's AIM program, focused on improving mental health for NSU student-athletes. Prior to arriving at NSU, Jabir served as an Associate Athletic Director at the University of Dayton.
