Boone, Ford Continue To Earn Postseason Honors with Spots on the AVCA All-South Region Team

The two Sharks bring home first all-region honors for the Sharks since 2017

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Following All-Sunshine State Conference recognition, Nova Southeastern volleyball players Alex Boone and Ally Ford have been named to the AVCA All-South Region Team, as announced on Wednesday afternoon.

"I am so excited that the coaches in our region have awarded Ally and Alex with All-Region distinction because of their contributions to the Sharks all season long," boasted head coach Brian Rosen. "We accomplished so much as a team this year, and individual honors represent what they did and our team's overall success. I am so excited that we get one more season with both of these amazing student-athletes, and I look forward to seeing what our team will accomplish next year."

Earning a spot on the All-SSC Newcomer Team, Boone finds her name on the All-South Region Team after an impressive junior season. After just one season as a Shark, Boone holds multiple records in the single season books including: No. 2 in attack percentage (.396), No. 7 in block assists (88), tied for No. 8 in blocks per set (.93) and No. 9 in total blocks (99). She also ranks No. 4 all-time in individual match attack percentage with her .812 percentage against Mississippi College on Oct. 18.

"Alex led our entire region in hitting percentage and is currently seventh in the nation," admitted Rosen. "That stat shows that she not only swings to score, but also limits her errors and puts pressure on the other side of the net at all times."

After an All-SSC Second Team and Newcomer Team nod, Ford also earns a spot on the All-South Region Team. The junior from Leesburg, Va. is also featured in the NSU single-season record books, holding the No. 3 spot in points per set (4.08) and is tied for ninth in aces per set (.46).

"Ally's recognition is based on a complete body of work," said Rosen. "She was not only a top offensive player in our region based on kills and hitting percentage, but she was also the only player in our region to be top five in points per set, kill percentage, blocks per set and aces per set."
