MELBOURNE, Fla. – For the fourth time this season, sophomore swimmer
Sasha Maslova has garnered Sunshine State Conference Female Swimmer of the Week award, following a solid performance at 2019 Sheraton Le Meridien Fall Frenzy Invite hosted by Queens University of Charlotte in North Carolina.
A Moscow, Russia native, Maslova took gold in the 400 IM (4:20.16) and 200 Fly (2:00.42). She also finished second in the 200 IM (2:02.76) and fourth in the 100 Fly (54.71). All four of her times are NCAA "B" qualifying marks, rank first in the SSC, and rank Top-10 in NCAA Division II.
Along with her individual performances, she helped NSU's 400 Medley Relay to gold and an NCAA "B" qualifying mark (3:52.37).
The Sharks have one more competition before the New Year, heading south for a dual at Florida International on Tuesday, Dec. 17 on the Panthers' Miami campus.
