MELBOURNE, Fla. – Shark swimmers
Sasha Maslova and
Magnus Poulsen have picked up their third and second Sunshine State Conference Swimmer of the Week awards of the season, respectively, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. While this is also Maslova's third all-time award, this week serves as Poulsen's fourth all-time award.
Maslova takes Swimmer of the Week for the third time this season following NSU's dual meet win against the University of Tampa. The Moscow, Russia native led the Sharks to a relay victory in the 200 Medley Relay (1:44.91) and took gold in the 100 Fly (56.89) and 200 Fly (2:03.32). Her 200 Fly time is an NCAA B-qualifying mark and stands as the sixth-best in NCAA Division II this season, while the 100 Fly time places her eighth nationally.
Poulsen led the Sharks to a relay victory in the 200 Medley Relay (1:31.09) and took individual gold in the 100 Fly (48.85) and 200 Fly (1:53.52). His 100 fly time is an NCAA B qualifying mark and stands as the fourth-best in NCAA Division II this season, while the 200 fly time places him 21
st nationally. The weekly award is the fourth of his career.
The Sharks will be back in action on Nov. 22 as they travel to Charlotte, N.C. to compete in the Fall Frenzy, a three-day event hosted by Queens.
