MELBOURNE, Fla. – On the heels of her season-opening win at the BUBBA Burger Jacksonville Classic, Nova Southeastern sophomore Hanna Ahlander has earned her first career Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week honor, announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Competing in a field that featured nine NCAA Division I programs, the 2018-19 SSC Freshman of the Year led the Sharks to a 15-shot victory at Jacksonville University's tournament - their second win in as many tries at the event. Ahlander captured individual medalist honors after setting the 54-hole tournament record with a score of six-under par. She was one of just two players to finish in red numbers during the week, and topped the field in both Par-4 (3.87) and Par-5 (4.75) scoring average, as well as in total birdies with 14.
