MELBOURNE, Fla. – Sophomore swimmer
Sasha Maslova earned her second-career Sunshine State Conference Female Swimmer of the Week award after an impressive outing in a dual meet against Lynn this past Friday, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
The Moscow, Russia native was a big factor in the Sharks' dominating 147-58 win over the Fighting Knights, keeping NSU undefeated this season in not only league competition but overall on the season.
As a member of the 200 medley relay along with
Cassandra Wright,
Caily Friel and
Jenna Johns, Maslova helped the team to a first-place finish in 1:45.94. In the 400 IM, she grabbed first with her NCAA B-cut time of 4:27.32 and also went on to win the 100 butterfly in 56.59.
The Sharks will take a weekend off before welcoming SSC foe Tampa Spartans to the NSU Aquatic Center on Nov. 9. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.
