Data Development Specialist

The Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri is a hunger-relief network distributing food at no cost to recipients at over 140 partner agencies and 153 schools. Partner agencies include food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters for the abused and homeless. We also operate targeted programs to provide additional assistance to children in low-income families, senior citizens and veterans. The Food Bank’s 32-county service area spans more than 18,000 square miles in central and northeast Missouri (approximately one-third of the state). Since 1981, The Food Bank has been on the front lines in the fight against hunger, providing millions of pounds of groceries to the working poor, single-parent households, children, older adults, veterans, the homeless and others living in poverty. This includes many families grappling with severe and multi-generational poverty, but it also includes individuals who may have found themselves unexpectedly in need after a job loss, illness or other emergency. In 2018, The Food Bank distributed 30.1 million pounds of food, with a wholesale value of over $50 million. The Data Development Specialist would work with our Programs team to help assess the efficacy of the assistance we provide every month. They will create a procedure for The Food Bank as a whole to pull information consistently across departments, and help our local partners evaluate their community impact and highlight the needs of their own community. To do so, the Data Development VISTA will create data definitions and methods for performing data research, track program progress, and assist pantries in the collection of data. The Food Bank is a drug-free work place and equal opportunity employer.
