Helping Youth Cope with Stressful Events

Many adults are wondering how to discuss this topic in a way that will be reassuring and not make kids more worried than they already may be. Fortunately, there are some great resources to help.
The updated Families Connected Traumatic Events page connects adults with strategies for supportive communications with children, as well as helpful links to credible information sources, including Beach Cities Health District and the Centers for Disease Control, which can help curtail rumors and fake news.

Featured tip from Child Mind Institute:
"Take your cues from your child. Invite your child to tell you anything they may have heard about the coronavirus, and how they feel." LEARN MORE
