Hey, YOU.

Regardless of where you currently stand emotionally and physically, everyone can relate to having feelings of uncertainty right now. Take a moment to break the thought cycle of what-if's with five breath cycles. Ready?
Remember, you can access stress and anxiety resources related to COVID-19, school, and life any time.

Coping with Change

It's human nature to try and make sense of the unknown. If you’re feeling anxious, lonely, or stressed imagining what might happen, recognize that the trajectory of current events are largely out of your control. Instead, put your thoughts and efforts toward what you CAN control.

  • Create a daily routine to maintain your nutrition, exercise, and sleep
  • Embrace the power of mindfulness
  • Follow quality news sources and limit your exposure to coverage — get your facts and get out!

Spending time and energy on what's attainable can help you remain connected, manage stress, and stay positive.

Do's and Don'ts
Words carry meaning. In the current climate, it’s important to recognize the impact our language can have on others. Stigma and bias, while often unintentional, can create ripples of harm for those impacted. Speak mindfully and emphasize the importance of prevention. For example...

Do: Be aware and talk about individuals who might have been exposed to COVID-19 and support them in taking action to avoid spreading the virus.

Don’t: Talk about “suspects” or “suspected cases.” This can unintentionally imply blame.

Practice Gratitude
Taking time to acknowledge what you’re grateful for during challenging times may feel counterintuitive, but can actually have huge health benefits.

Write down three things you’re thankful for (big and small). Stick them to your mirror, save them as your phone background, or share them on social media as a grounding reminder.
