Dear Colleagues,

I hope you are safe, well, and in good health. I’m writing to share some new resources that I hope will benefit your deeper learning about emotional intelligence and support you and your family’s emotional well-being during these challenging times.

  • First, this week I was on Brené Brown’s new podcast, Unlocking Us. Brené and I talked about why we all need Permission To Feel at home, school, and work – especially now. Here is a link to the podcast. I hope you enjoy it! The podcast resulted in the hardcover being out of stock in many places, but B&N and BAM still has some books - and there’s always audio. I’m grateful to Brené for helping me spread the wisdom of emotion. It hasn't been easy to get our society to take emotions seriously, but now we’re one step closer!

  • I’ve also added new resources on my website: www.marcbrackett.com. Here, you can learn more about Permission To Feel, read new articles, sign up for webinars and my blog, and join my new virtual book club that will launch in May. You also can learn more about RULER, our Center’s evidence-based approach to SEL. Here are two new articles:

    • This article provides tips for regulating emotions during challenging times.

    • This article describes the results of a recent study on teachers’ emotions during COVID-19 and provides strategies to support educator wellness.

  • Finally, our Center has generated resources, including educational webinars to support people during this difficult period. You can see them all here. The healthy emotion regulation is especially relevant.

In a time when we are physically separated, connections are more important than ever. I hope some of the resources I’ve provided can support you and your families.

With the wisdom of emotion,
Marc
