A hilariously sexy tale from USA Today bestselling authors Jennifer Blackwood and RC Boldt...

The beer's not the only thing getting tapped.

CALLIE

I have a secret. It’ll get me fired if my boss ever finds out…which shouldn’t be a problem except for one thing: my coworker, Reid Morgan.

He’s cocky, aggravating, and that hot-as-sin mouth simultaneously makes me want to slap him and melt into the mattress.

Now that he’s discovered my secret, he’s doing everything in his power to take my job.

REID

I have a problem: my pint-size spitfire of a coworker who’s primed to take my promotion.

She’s infuriating, sexy as hell, and I just can’t seem to keep my hands off her.

Now we’re both vying for the same position…and only one of us can come out on top.

I really looked forward to reading this one. First, obviously for the hottie on the cover, and second since I’ve enjoyed this author in the past.

I’m conflicted in how to write this review. Here’s the thing, I enjoyed this story, but I did not love it. I’ll try to explain this without giving the story away... Bear with me.

We’re introduced to Callie our main heroine in the beginning of this story. I. Did. Not. Like. Her. At. All. in the beginning and then of course she grew on me the more the story progressed. I felt as if she grew up throughout the book until she spilled her guts to a priest drinking beer in a bar. Really... seriously for real?? You don’t poor your heart out with private secrets and information to a priest you don’t even know, sitting in a bar, drinking beer. Just no. NO!

Okay so I overlooked that, let it go and moved on with the story. I got the ending I craved and I loved the groveling that Reid did. He definitely won me over with it and I may have swooned a time or two ❤️ He definitely has a soft heart that he guards with an ironclad case around it. But once Callie was in it, there was no shaking the chemistry and connection these two had. The banter between Callie & Reid made this book for me. It made me laugh and it made me fall in love with this couple.

This story was about finding love and chasing your dreams. There was some bumps in this story that I could have done without, but Overall it was an okay read for me.

Tap That was a fun frenemies to lovers read with just enough angst that leaves you wanting more. The character’s chemistry was smoldering and intense with a lot of witty banter back and forth. I had a little trouble getting into the book but once I did, I could not put it down. I loved how the story unfolded; there were times I wanted to punch Reid and knock some sense into Callie but these two were just perfectly imperfect together. The side characters were just as great. I vote that Grayson gets his own book!

I’m a big fan of RC Boldt’s but Jennifer is a new to me author and one I will be on the lookout for. Thanks to these two, I have now had the Spice Girls song going through my head for days.

If you are looking for a fun, sexy, swoon worthy book then look no further. This one is just that and more.

I loved Tap That! The banter between Reid and Callie was hilarious! There was so much sexual tension, so I was waiting for Reid to Tap that. Callie and Reid were both very competitive, vying for the same job. Who would get the coveted position? Would the other graciously accept defeat, or stubbornly hold a grudge? I love RC Boldt's books, and this one with Jennifer Blackwood was fantastic!

It pains me to write this. I love the two authors individually so I tried so hard to like this, but I just wasn't feeling the book at all.

First of all, I disliked Callie immediately. I know some people oversell themselves on their resume, but this girl lied about being a beer connoisseur and got the job because of it. She doesn't even like beer! Throughout the story, she came off as entitled and immature. Even with the whole thing with her parents, I still thought she didn't deserve the position.

While I was on Reid's side regarding the suitability to get the job, he came off as immature as Callie. They didn't communicate properly, so there lies the problem.

I felt nothing for the couple. I know they were attracted to each other, but I didn't feel like what they had was anything more than lust. They spent the first few parts of the book trying to one-up the other, and the rest they were suddenly telling each other stuff they never tell others, and I don't know. I didn't see enough of a connection for them to be emotionally invested in each other.

And the boss. This is all his fault. I'm so mad at this guy. He didn't see Reid's potential, made some stupid decisions, and blech.

While I didn't like this book, I'm still excited to see what the authors individually have in store for their readers.

I really enjoy the work from this author and this collaboration is also very good.
This book has it's fair share of funny moments mixed with sexy times but there is some serious background stuff going on which takes it a little bit deeper then a shallow read.
I found I was really invested in Reid and Callie and felt every good and bad moment.
I loved that Callie seemed so real. She did and said things that made me cringe but mostly because I have found myself in similar circumstances.
Reid is a tough guy with lots of muscle and some angst right deserved but my favourite times are when we see his softer side - awww.
This is another very enjoyable read.

If you are looking for a read that has the angst to the max...Tap That is the book for you!

This is not the first time I have read a story by either of these fabulous authors. Each story confirms I was right to put them on my one-click list! I have been hooked since the first time and you can be sure you are getting a hot read, some heart games and maybe even some laughs when you pick up their work!

There is nothing better than a story that wraps its emotional war up with the personal success of the characters. You know that both will fight tooth and nail for what they want personally or professionally...all while trying to keep this thing between them going or being forced to end it.

Not only did I find myself all heart achy...but I giggled quite a bit throughout, which makes this an even bigger win!

Reading time for me was a little over 4 hours...which I binged. Couldn't have put it down if I had to, seriously.

Tap That was a major win for me. I am giving it 5 stars!

Who lies on their résumé?
This heroine (and apparently some of my new colleagues), but anyway…

Who takes a job at a microbrewery and doesn’t know anything about beer and actually hates beer?
This heroine (and fortunately none of my acquaintances).

And I wonder how many German readers these authors gonna win with this line…

News flash: I’d take the blow job any day over beer.

TSTL is not my genre…

Greetings from Munich, ladies and gentlemen!
Prost!

RECENSIONE: https://thereadingslove.blogspot.com/...

description

This was such a fun read! Light, well written, funny and sexy.

I have read RC Bolt before so I new I liked her writing style, but paired with another author was something new for me. I have no idea who bought what to the table but together Jennifer and RC have created a great book, I appreciated their ability to go from serious to funny and back again without going overboard.

 photo Reidcallie_zpsweuuqosh.gif

Reid and Callie were a great couple and I liked Callies strength toward the end. Reid well, at first I thought sexy as hell alpha bartender, bring it! As the book continued he did get super sweet and maybe a tad too soft for me, that didn't take anything away from the story though.

 photo Callieandmel_zpsdgugoru6.gif

I loved Mel Callies BFF also Bert from the Bar and Reid's grandma. These characters were so funny and gave the book that little something extra.

Looking forward to reading more from this author duo.

Enemies to lovers tropes can be tricky for me because there's a fine line between "sexy-mean" and "well now I just feel bad" mean, and let me tell you - it doesn't take much to make me feel bad. So, fantastic news y'all? Ms. Boldt and Ms. Blackwood got the balance just right. Because there are angry sparks flying here - but they only lead nicely into a sizzling sweet burn and it was not difficult for me to jump on board with this romance.

There's a sort of quirky adorableness to this fun, light-hearted romance that sets Tap That apart from other books of this nature. It was Cassie and Reid's ability to be so real with each other that really drew me in, and the easy way they interacted - that is, when they weren't stubbornly butting heads (because...enemies). However, even when their heads were butting, the chemistry was on point. And Reid was that perfect kind of hero, his gruff and grumbly exterior blanketing that irresistible heart of gold on the inside.

I can't stress enough what a fun read this was. There were moments so perfect they literally made my breath catch. There were moments so funny I couldn't hold my giggles back. And there were moments I wanted to knock their heads together to try to work some sense into them - but over-all - these moments all equaled a delightful romance and a super satisfying reader experience. ~ Shelly, 4 Stars

I was so excited to read Tap That as I have read both R.C. Boldt and Jennifer Blackwood separately and thought they were both delightful. So a collaboration by these two fabulous authors was something that got my grabby hands all crazy! And let me tell you this story was great! It was laugh out loud funny at times with a sexy hero and heroine and a boatload of fun side characters. I thought Reid and Callie had great chemistry, banter and a push and pull attraction I could not get enough of.

Anyone who knows me knows that enemies to lovers is my jam. It's a sickness. The meaner the better is my motto because the reward is always sweeter. Tap That was on the milder side of the enemies to lovers trope but was filled to the brim with a sassy heroine, alpha hero and engaging back and forth banter. I enjoyed Reid and Callie's spirited antics but also loved their sweeter side.

All in all this was great and I look forward to more from this duo in the future! Bravo! 4 stars! ~Ratula

Hilarious, witty, and with a plethora of sexually-charged angst, Tap That is a fun and feisty enemies-to-lovers romance with the perfect mix of heat and heart!

This book was a very enjoyable quick read. It takes the love/hate relationship and blends it with an intriguing forbidden romance, with an abundance of comedy throughout. The relationship between Reid and Callie sparks intensity immediately, an intensity that’s geared more towards eliciting sabotage and hostility in the workplace. Their clashing vibes were like oil and water, that no matter how much they’re shaken up, they’ll never mix just right. But all it took was for both of them to truly look deeper into who the other person was, to know their true motivations and dreams, for them both to finally realize they’re more alike than what they originally thought. The angst that simmered throughout the story slowly morphs into a respect and admiration, followed quickly by joy and heartache that neither were ready for.

Passion runs wild in this entertaining and emotional romance! If you love a good angst-filled, comedic, and heartwarming story, then Tap That is the book for you!

4 Stars!

Tap That is a fun enemies-to-lovers story told in dual POV. The writing flowed well and was easy to read. Reid and Callie are vying for the same management position at the brewery On Tap....he's worked there for five years, she was brought in to be trained for the position. He hates her because she's in the way of his opportunity but they're attracted to each other and can't keep their eyes and hands off one another. Let the games commence!

I liked the story well enough to breeze through it and finish it but there wasn't really anything memorable for me (I didn't even highlight anything aside from their first kiss :/ ) or punch of feelings to put it over the top.

I enjoyed their happily ever after, it was sweet and the perfect ending to their story :)

Tap That è un romance esilarante!

Both R.C. Boldt and Jennifer Blackwood are new to me authors, but after reading Tap That I want to read more of their work. They flowed so well together, and I’m sure they’re as wonderful alone. Without a doubt, this was a great way to find two new to me authors I want to read more of.

When I found Tap That, I was expecting a quick and easy read. Although I was given such a read, it had a lot more depth than some of the quick and easy romance books I grab. There’s a much deeper story here, there are issues to be dealt with, and the story had more depth than I’d imagined it would. It was a pleasant surprise, one I was more than happy about.

Filled with humour and steamy moments, you’re quickly pulled into the story. From the very first page you are sucked into the lives of the main characters, desperate to see how everything will play out. You’ll enjoy the good, you’ll be down with the bad, and all the drama will leave you begging for more. Honestly, the events in this one are so addictive. You’ll be turning page after page, unable to put this book down until you have finished the story.

I really did have so much fun with this one, finding myself lost to all that was happening. A large part of me is hoping the author’s will give us more books with the side characters, as I enjoyed the side characters a lot and would love to spend more time with everyone in this book.

Without a doubt, more than worth the read.

I really wish I could have gotten into this one more. I wanted to like the h, but I honestly couldn’t root for her, since she came into the picture under false pretenses—Reid deserved her position to begin with. I couldn’t ever really get past that fact, so their chemistry and connection didn’t ever really jell for me.

Also, I just wrote this same comment in another review. How is it through the editing process something like eye color on either the H, or h isn’t caught more often? This discrepancy is a pet peeve of mine, so I naturally catch it often. But for me, the inconsistency takes away from the imagery of the characters I’ve already got developed in my mind.

Like I said just a pet peeve:

“Another small cluster of kids runs by screaming, but all I can do is stare at Reid’s blue eyes.”

“Yeah,” he responds gently, his blue eyes gazing at me tenderly.”

THEN:

“He looks at me with those deep-brown eyes, and dammit, I don’t have enough fight in me to turn him away when he wants to explain something.”

*If the h had been drinking, it’d make more sense;)

Our hero is finally ready to make the move into management at the brewery, but before he can talk to his boss about it the man hires a woman who is supposed to be a beer tasting expert. Or is she? Either way she has a good shot at the same management position our hero wants. Let the competition begin. May the better tongue win! Heehee

Boldt and Blackwood team up to deliver a funny and sexy story.

Reid and Callie don't start off under the best circumstances. The veteran bartender and the newbie are both after the same management position at On Tap. While they may be driven by different reasons, they are both desperate for the job. Despite an immediate attraction, these two are at each other’s throats. The sexual tension created some seriously steamy moments. We are also treated to some laugh out loud dialogue between these two. I couldn't get enough of the sweet moments they shared. I wish we were able to witness more of that. Misunderstandings, lack of communication, and stubbornness, led to a lot of frustration. I feel like they spent so much time fighting that we didn't get to enjoy much of them together. When these two were good, they were good. I had hoped to get more of that. For all of you who love the humor and drama of an enemies to lovers, will really enjoy this one. Interesting and deep characters, a fast paced storyline, and a whole lot of tension, make Tap That well worth the read. I'm wondering if these two have any plans for giving us more from this world. I'm definitely interested in the side characters. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

I am acquiring a harem of Book boyfriends!!! Reid Morgan is yet another one!

I first discovered Ms. Boldt when I read her book, Out of Love and devoured everything of hers soon after.

Tap That is my first taste of Ms. Blackwood and I’m hooked on her writing now!!

Reid is a guy you love, hate then love again. Callie was such an amazing woman. She was trying to prove herself to the two people who should be her biggest supporters.....but alas they aren’t.

I absolutely loved the banter between Reid and Callie....their relationship development was spot on!

This is a MUST one click!!!!

REVIEW: 3+ STARS
"His smile makes me want to slap that expression off his perfectly stubbled face. He's wearing jeans and a black shirt that hugs every muscle. The only word that comes to mind is: delicious."

This promised to be a great title, between RC Boldt's signature comedy and swooniness in her men, to the introduction of Jennifer Blackwood's writing. I haven't read Jennifer's books yet, but I have heard of her and even met her at a signing once, so I was so excited about this story! While this wasn't my favorite read as of late, it was an easy read. I wanted a little more depth, I suppose, but this one felt like a surface scratcher read. It was was a rom-com, I know, but I felt like it lacked a little for me...which isn't the norm where RC is involved. But overall, a light and fun read with a sweet ending!

The book started out a little rough for me, especially because the reality of her actually getting that job in the first place made me say huh? Like, check references, people! So of course, I was already questioning things. But, by about the 32% mark, it started to pick up a little. It was slow in a few spots, but I was still actively interested in it. By the time I got to the 51% mark, it honestly felt like a finished story....which was very odd!! Needless to say, the rest of the story had me curious about what was going to happen to add more drama and more making up for Reid and Callie.

What I wanted and what I got were almost two different things. Almost. I wanted to see the depth in Reid. I wanted him to fight for Callie and I wanted to see him be a man and stand up.....and what I got wasn't exactly that. I was hoping his backbone would stay strong, but he disappointed me for a little bit there. His redemption was a rough ride, in my eyes. I wanted to see Callie's strength that she gave us early on to continue, and I feel like she did that.

We got some made up drama that added to the overall storyline, but it felt very contrived in some aspects. It made me roll my eyes at some points, but it was definitely some of my biggest pet peeves playing out across the pages. It also felt slow and immature in some parts, but they are young, so I could go with it and follow along. Again, not my favorite, but it pushed the story forward and gave us some insight into their thought processes, and also allowed us to see who Reid and Callie were and what they are made of.

On the positive side, these two were a fun couple. When it was them, and not outside extenuating circumstances, the story was cute! It was light. It was easy. It was sexy! These two had chemistry and I enjoyed seeing them hanging out and hooking up. It was a really fun read with some super sweet times together. I loved finding them in some....tingly predicaments, and those were all sorts of fun! I smiled a lot, I giggled a few times, and I even sighed a few times. This couple was definitely cute.

This was an enemies to lovers/rom-com read, and I definitely enjoyed the setup and the fostered animosity between these two characters, so it was legit. I mean, I would hate to be in Reid's shoes...but I'd also hate to be in Callie's too! So the setup, in that aspect, was on point and I liked that. I laughed at their push and pull. I relished in their snarky comments. I loved that they were sneaking in quick glances, adding some fun into their job. I enjoyed their desire playing out before me. At times I felt all the intensity between these two, and at times it fell a little flat for me. Overall, this was a good read for me, and despite the slight problems I may have had with it, this ended on an easy smile for me.

Reid and Callie don't get off to the best of starts when Reid is overlooked for promotion in the micro-brewery he works in. To make matters worse, Callie only got the trial due to an embellishment on her resume, the fact that she doesn't like beer shouldn't matter in a micro-brewery should it!!!!

To be honest, Reid is a bit of a douche to Callie in the beginning, he is determined to keep her at a distance and takes his career frustration out on Callie. to be fair, Callie gives as good as she gets; their ascorbic banter masks the attraction they are determined to deny. You can guess how well they cope with that, especially as the chemistry between them could fuel a power statin ;)

There is, however, an additional barrier to any form of relationship between Callie and Reid with the unspoken non-fraternization rule in place within the bar. Risking their careers when the passion ignites between them as well as competing for the managerial position adds tension to what Callie and Reid would like to believe is a casual fling. However, it is obvious how well Callie and Reid compliment each other both in work and in play.

At the risk of sounding cliche, everything happens for a reason be it a change of career or an unexpected path to fulfilling your dreams. Callie and Reid experience their fair share of ups and downs within Tap That but ultimately they have to realize there is another path for both of them to make their career dreams come true as long as they support each other.

Tap That touches on the inequality and double standards placed on women in the workplace compared to their male counterparts which adds a thought-provoking element to the narrative.
