This PR is a demo on how ACT Rules might be incorporated into the techniques environment. This is not a finalised rule, so do not merge this pull request.

I created this PR to demonstrate how ACT Rules can work in the existing framework of techniques. Most things map relatively easily between from the ACT Rules Format to the techniques template. There are a few changes that are needed to make this work. I've listed them below. I propose we discuss if these are acceptable changes, because if they are, the ACT Task Force will be able to contribute its rules to the effort of writing techniques for WCAG 2.1

Modifications made to the template:

  • Added new "types" to metadata: Atomic Test Rule / Composed Test Rule
  • Add "Test aspects" to metadata
  • Added "When not to fail" (expectation) section under "applicability"
  • Moved "description" above "When to use"
  • Removed test section in favor of expectation section
  • Added "definitions" section
  • Added Authors section (not required by ACT, but considered good practice by Auto-WCAG)
  • Added accessibility support section

Things not included from the original Auto-WCAG proposal:

  • The "Background" section was not used (not required in ACT)
  • Left assumptions out as there were none for this rule
