#GenerationEquality
UN Women calls on all UN young professionals to join us at the Activation of the Generation Equality Campaign within the United Nations on the 16 September 2019. It’s a space and an opportunity for young women to galvanize the United Nations in accelerating actions that are needed to be taken by the organization for the empowerment of young women. Join this intergenerational dialogue with our Executive Director, Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, the Private Sector and UN Leaders, and UN young professionals.

Generation Equality is a campaign for swift systemic change, with political will and bold, decisive actions taken on the laws, policies and outdated mindsets that must no longer curtail women’s voice, choice and safety. The activation of this campaign with the UN family will take place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on 16 September 2019 from 13:15 to 14:30 (New York time). The activation of the Generation Equality Campaign within the United Nations will initiate a discussion across the UN system on how UN Women can deliver on the Generation Equality Campaign internally, focussing on the empowerment of young women within the organisation. The event itself will facilitate an intergenerational dialogue between young UN personnel, experts, private sector and high-level UN officials. It will focus on reverse mentorship and transfer of leadership initiatives discussing how these can play a critical role in supporting the career advancement of young women and ultimately contribute to closing the gender gap within the UN.

To all UN young professionals, engage in this conversation. Let your voice be heard! Don’t be left behind.
