Joe De Ciman, one of the most recognizable and the winningest player in CSU basketball history has been on the CSU men’s basketball staff since the 2018-19 season. He has held the role of Director of Player Development since 2021.

In his role, he oversees all off-court activities for the men’s basketball team including academic success and career development.
 
De Ciman was in the lineup for 123 games, fourth most all-time at CSU, with the 87 wins the most ever for a player in Fort Collins. His senior year, he started all 34 games, averaging 10.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists and a team-high 32.7 minutes a game. A four-time academic all-conference honoree at CSU,  he currently ranks in the top 20 in Ram history in games played, three-pointers made and attempted, minutes, and games started. His 1,112 minutes played his senior year rank seventh for a single-season all-time at CSU.
 
Following his senior season, De Ciman played two years of professional basketball in Spain. His first year, he helped Iraurgi Saski Baloia to the Spanish LEB Plata championship, earning them promotion to the LEB ORO division.
 
He earned his bachelor’s degree in health and exercise science from CSU in 2016 and his master’s in education and human resource studies in 2019.
