Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford joined Los Angeles metalcore stalwarts In This Moment onstage at the Loudwire Music Awards on Tuesday (Oct. 24) for a powerful performance of In This Moment’s “Black Wedding.”
The performance opens with Halford and In This Moment lead singer Maria Brink standing center stage, Brink clutching flowers and Halford bowing his head reverently as the “Bridal Chorus” plays in the background. The band swells as both singers trade lead vocals, harmonizing on the epic, theatrical chorus, which riffs on Billy Idol’s classic rock staple, “White Wedding.”
Halford received the highest honor of the evening, the Lemmy Lifetime Achievement Award. Named after the late Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister, the award recognizes artists who channel the “spirit of Lemmy, heavy metal and rock ’n’ roll,” according to a statement. Judas Priest were recently nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s Class of 2018 as well.
“Black Wedding” originally appeared featuring Halford on In This Moment’s Ritual album, which was released earlier this year.
