Related Arts Clarification

Good Afternoon!

Confused about Related Arts….Hopefully This Will Help!

We know there was some confusion with regard to the Related Arts schedule of synchronous and asynchronous assignments. During the first synchronous session for each Related Arts class (i.e. PE, Music, Art, Media, Technology) your child’s Related Arts teacher will communicate with the students how to best navigate the course and identify where students will obtain weekly assignments and lessons. With that being said I wanted to try and clarify the expectations.

Individual Related Arts Schedules:

  • Related Arts Schedules are attached for your Child’s Homeroom.  Please save a copy for further reference.

  • The schedule is a rotating 5 week schedule, using color codes instead of Days of the Week.

Synchronous (Face to Face) Instruction:

  • Students will have Synchronous Related Arts two days a week (1st, 3rd, 5th on Mon/Thur and K, 2nd, 4th on Tue/Fri)

  • Students will have either 2 or 3 Synchronous Related Arts classes each week (either Two 5o min classes or One 50 min class and Two 25 minute classes)

  • Each Synchronous Related Arts class will be posted on the students Canvas Calendar with a Google Link included.

  • You may notice that ALL Synchronous Related Arts classes will use the SAME google meet code/link

Asynchronous (Anytime) Instruction:

  • Each Asynchronous Related Arts Lesson will be posted on Wednesday as a reminder for students (the Related Arts team is busy adding these events on calendars now)

  • To locate the Asynchronous Lesson, scroll to the Lesson & Task Header or click on the Module Link located on the left side of the Related Arts page.

  • Each Asynchronous Task is also posted on the student To Do List and will appear on the Canvas Calendar.  Please note that it is listed on the date the assignment  is DUE.

  • Once an Asynchronous Task is submitted it will say submitted under the Task so you know your child completed it.

  • While each Asynchronous Task has a due date to help stay on track, each must be completed by the end of the Five Week Cycle.

  •

Please continue to ask questions.  I believe it’s going to continue to make sense as the students meet with their Related Arts teachers.
