Because great parents are made, not born!

Wow, how quickly life as we know it can change, right?

Last week started as a fairly "regular" week with persistent, but still relatively small worries about the Coronavirus...

And here we are now, looking at indefinite school closures, working from home, activity cancellations and standing in front of the bathroom closet wondering how long our toilet paper will last and if we should have stocked up before all stores on the planet ran out!

If it all feels a little overwhelming and confusing, please know this - you are not alone.

There are a lot of resources out there that you can rely on and I hope you use them to alleviate your own worries so you don't visit them on your children.

The primary resource we offer you in this situation is our Positive Parenting Village group!

From lists of activities to keep kids engaged through school closures, to decisions about whether to go ahead with a previously planned birthday party or not - you can discuss about anything on your mind in this group. Here, here, here and here are some great discussion threads so far.

Join in and find your support through the confusion and overwhelm!

While all the changes that are happening can seem challenging for us, it is all the more so for our little ones!

Increased anxiety, changes in routines, and being stuck inside for days on end can spark an increase in challenging behavior you may have already been seeing.

As a parent, if you start feeling helpless, frustrated, worn out and at a loss about what to do to help your child, I have another great resource for you to try.

My friend, Dayna Abraham from Lemon Lime Adventures is hosting a FREE "Calm the Chaos" workshop series, complete with Q&A’s sessions and live Coaching Calls that include addressing the current Coronavirus situation.

Take a look to see if it might help you - not just with the current situation, but also in making long-term fundamental shifts in managing your child's behaviors!

Finally, Our Weekly Article...

Coronavirus or not, the business of parenting continues.

And as part of this ongoing journey, today we look at how we can help our kids step out of their comfort zones.

Covering this topic for us masterfully is Heidii McMichael, a mom of 3 daughters, who found herself at the receiving end of great excitement from 2 daughters, and much resistance from the 3rd, as their family started planning to host a foreign exchange student.

Heidii explores several excellent strategies they tried that you can use too, in any new situations your family may be experiencing - from bringing home an elderly relative, to transitioning from one house to another, to welcoming a family member from the military or abroad, and more.

Here, check it out -
