In order to receive Epic access, new providers must also complete SHC online Epic courses. After beginning, it is also highly recommended that all new providers attend a classroom Epic session.

Radiology PACS Viewer provides access to PACS to view imaging studies from Epic or a web browser.
<h3 id="cs001" data-nav-show="true" data-nav="Launch Viewer Outside of Epic">Launch Viewer Outside of Epic</h3>
<p>Access to the Radiology Viewer can be accomplished from outside of Epic. This can be used in a downtime of Epic or the Sectra PACS.</p>
<p>In addition, the this can be used for accessing the Radiology Images in areas that have a heavy usage of the viewer, for example, in the OR or Emergency Department.</p>

<li>Double left-click the study from the list you want to view to open the study or click in each checkbox to open multiple studies to view.</li>
<li>To view the Report for the study click <img style="align: baseline;" src="/sys_attachment.do?sys_id=cd44ce68db6fa784bdb9f3931d9619b9" align="baseline" border="0" hspace="-1" vspace="0" />. This will open the report on the left side of the screen.</li>
<li>Click on the lower box displaying the study you opened to display a panel with the assoicated images within the study. <br /><img style="align: baseline;" src="/sys_attachment.do?sys_id=269f79a8db6ba784bdb9f3931d96192c" align="baseline" border="0" hspace="-1" vspace="0" /></li>
<li>From this list of images displayed you can click on individual images to display them.</li>
<li>To display multiple images click <img style="align: baseline;" src="/sys_attachment.do?sys_id=bc62ceecdbeba784bdb9f3931d96199e" align="baseline" border="0" hspace="-1" vspace="0" /> Screen Layouts. Use Series to display the images taken during the study with a choice of number images to be displayed. <br /><img style="align: baseline;" src="/sys_attachment.do?sys_id=96330aacdb2fa784bdb9f3931d961923" align="baseline" border="0" hspace="-1" vspace="0" /><br /><br /><strong>Image</strong>: These layouts display one or more images from a single series and are also referred to image tile layouts. The dotted lines represent images within the same series. <br /><strong>Series:</strong> These layouts display more than one series from a single study. The grey lines represent series within a single study. <br /><strong>Study Compare</strong> (if enabled): These layouts control layout behavior when prior studies are in-view in single or multi-monitor modes.<br /><br /></li>

<li>Double click on one of the images to expand it to full view.</li>
<li>Click <strong>Markup</strong> tab to use the display tools. The tools used will depend on the modality of the study.<br /><img style="align: baseline;" src="/sys_attachment.do?sys_id=de1cc2a8db67e784bdb9f3931d961977" align="baseline" border="0" hspace="-1" vspace="0" /><br /><br /><strong>Note:</strong> Annotation tools allow users to apply markup to an image but do not supply any measurement information. These markups are added, removed and edited in the same manner as the measurement tools.</li>
<li>To remove any markup use the Eraser <img style="align: baseline;" src="/sys_attachment.do?sys_id=b8dc46a4dba7e784bdb9f3931d96198d" align="baseline" border="0" hspace="-1" vspace="0" />, which is locate on the Home tab and the Markup tab.</li>

<h3 id="cs003" data-nav-show="true" data-nav="Collaboration">Collaboration</h3>
<p>Collaboration is a powerful feature that lets individuals share their screen with other participants, across all supported Viewer platforms.</p>
<p><strong>Note:</strong> As no patient data (including images) pass through Collaboration Services, each participant needs to independently log into the Viewer in order to start or join a collaborative session.</p>
<ol>
<li>To start a collaboration session, log into Radiology PACS Viewer, open desired study or studies.</li>
<li>Click <img style="align: baseline;" src="/sys_attachment.do?sys_id=b80c2212db37ab808054d2c75e9619a3" align="baseline" border="0" hspace="-1" vspace="0" /> collaborate to the ‘on’ position.</li>
<li>When the connection indicator has turned to green, the session has started and any changes made to the study are now being shared.</li>
<li>To join an existing collaboration session, log into Viewer, open the study or studies that are being viewed by other participants, and toggle the collaborate button to the ‘on’ position.</li>
<li>When the connection indicator has turned to green, you have joined the session and your view should synchronize to that of the other participants.</li>
<li>To leave a collaboration session, toggle the collaborate button to the ‘off’ position. When the connection indicator has turned to red, you have successfully left the session.</li>
