After Fireworks Cleanup - July 5, 2018

It's still not too late to sign up for the After the Fireworks Cleanup! After a night of fireworks, festivities, and fun, what better way to honor our City's beauty than with a shore clean up. Join us at the Courtney Campbell Causeway, Picnic Island Park, or Cypress Point Park as we remove litter before it enters our waterways.

Volunteer Work Days at the Florida Learning Garden

Volunteer Work Days are every second Saturday of the Month from 7:00am - 11:00 am.

Upcoming volunteer days: July 14, 2018 and  August 11, 2018

There are a few requirements for volunteering at the Florida Learning Garden. Please come prepared to get dirty; wear closed-toe shoes and clothes that can get dirty. There is limited shade at the Florida Learning Garden, so sun protection is a top priority; please wear hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Water will be provided; however, we encourage our volunteers to bring reusable water bottles.

Volunteers are needed to assist with a variety of tasks such as planting, harvesting, and weeding. There are also opportunities for site projects for those with carpentry and electrical skills.  Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

World Oceans Day Recap

Thank you to all of our volunteers who came out to cleanup the Hillsborough River for World Oceans Day, and Zephyrhills Natural Spring Water for continuing to support our water-based cleanup efforts as part of our Hillsborough Trash Free Waters Program.  Thank you Garbo Grabber for this new awesome way to pick up trash; and it's reusable!

Our volunteers removed over 1,000 lbs. of litter and debris from a small portion of the Hillsborough River and shoreline in just 3 hours.
