2017-18 - Haltom was one of the top golfers for the Lions as a true freshman, seeing action in all 31 rounds the team played in ... He carried a low round of 69 and had a team-high four rounds below par during the season ... He finished with a stroke average of 76.5 and two top-ten finishes on the season. 

Prior to Southern - Taylor comes from Ava HS in Ava, Missouri where he is currently a three-time letter winner for the Bears. Haltom is also a three-time Missouri State High Schools Activities Association (MSHSAA) Class 2 All-State selection and a three-time All-Conference selection with two years being first team All-Conference. Haltom earned the Ozone Player of the Week honors for the week of May 2, 2015 and was a two time nominee for the Springfield Newsleader's Best of Preps. Haltom finished his junior season with seven first place finishes while leading the Bears to both district and conference championships in 2014 and 2015. Taylor was the Springfield Junior City Champion in both 2014 and 2016 and was the SMJGA Champion in 2012 and 2014.

Personal - Haltom is the son of Nathan and Trisha Haltom, and plans to major in finance at Southern. Taylor is the younger brother of current Lions golfer, Tristan Haltom.
