SAN DIEGO, Calif.  – Colorado State faced another early run from San Diego State and couldn't come back this time, falling to the defending Mountain West champions, 78-65, Monday night at Viejas Arena. With the loss, the Rams slipped to 6-2 on the year and 3-1 in the conference, while the Aztecs improved to 7-2 and 1-1 in the league.

From there, the Aztecs continued to build on it, getting the lead to as many as 29 before going into the locker room with a 50-24 halftime lead. The Rams battled in the second half, including a 12-0 run to cut the margin to 16, but could not get closer than 12 the rest of the way.
