Students at P.S. 246 enjoyed a special morning with their fathers for the school’s “Dad Take Your Child to School” event.  

The event is all about fathers setting a positive example in their children’s lives.

“It’s amazing to see this big crowd here. I’m so stoked that dads took off from work to be here to support their children,” says Principal Andrea Johnson.

This year is the third year the school has held the event to encourage fathers to get more involved in their child's education. 

Over 200 dads showed up, including Carlos Rodriguez who took the day off to make sure he walked his daughter to school. 

“We have to support our kids no matter what. Family is everything,” says Rodriguez.

At the event, the fathers also filled a time capsule with messages to their children.

The capsules were locked, thrown and buried right on school grounds. A special moment for the fathers and their children.
