Holding Hailey (Alaska Blizzard #2) by Kat Mizera
Life doesn't always go according to plan. Hailey and Kane are finding that out first hand. She went for the gold and scored on the ice, but in the real world, her life is no fairy tale. Achieving her dream cost her in ways she never dreamed possible. The one bright spot in her life is Kane. The hockey star trying to keep his head in the game is about to get an even bigger shock. When it comes to love, there's never a dull moment. Mizera keeps her heroes on their toes and her readers guessing with heroines that beat the odds and fight their way into the heart. The Blizzards are a hot bed of temptation that keeps getting better.

As I have quickly discovered, Kat Mizera has the ability to pull me in again with her second book in this series, Holding Hailey. Hailey has somehow managed to hit the bottom after hitting an all time high of Olympic Gold. Homeless, jobless, penniless, Hailey needed something to change so that she could reach her goal of law school. Kane "Hat Trick" Hatcher, was traded to be a part of the Alaskan Blizzard franchise but his game & life were askew. The one bright light in their lives was their budding relationship but could it withstand the cross country distance. Kat Mizera has managed to weave a thread of steam and emotion that pack a powerful punch. Kane was really able to hold my heart and Hailey was written as a powerful woman, overcoming obstacles and yet still able to hold onto a certain amount of vulnerability. I look forward to Book 3.

Hailey life has been spinning out of control control every since she won a gold medal in hockey at the Olympics. She has no job, no place to live, and no money for law school all happening in two weeks. Kane can't stop thinking about his pen pal and lover Hailey, during a surprise visit the surprise is on him. Two people who never wanted kids until their lives and careers are settle will now be parents in 7 months.
I adored that Kane was always focused on been there for Hailey no matter what. I hated that she kept pushing him away to assert her independence. Along with getting to see past characters that I have fallen in love with before.

Great second book in this series. Loved Hailey and Kane. When they are thrown a curve ball while they are still getting to know each other, their insecurities come to the surface. in the end they proved that together they can overcome anything and that their bond is stronger than they thought. If you are a fan of sports romances, I highly recommend this series.

After winning an Olympic gold medal, Hailey Dobson is ready to finish tackling her next goal in life - law school. But when she’s ready to pick up where she left off, she finds herself with no job, no apartment and limited savings. The one and only good thing in her world is the new long distance relationship she’s entered into with Kane Hatcher.

Kane Hatcher’s known for scoring hat tricks, but last season, his game was off and the new team in Alaska is gelling like it should. While he’s totally into Hailey, she’s also all the way across the country. When an unexpected opportunity gives them some time together in the summer, both Kane and Hailey jump at the chance to be together, even if it’s only temporary.

When the ultimate game changer comes their way, however, both Kane and Hailey are in deeper than they ever expected. Without supportive families, neither is quite prepared for what’s headed their way, but they have no choice but to worth through it together. Can their budding relationship survive or will life keep them worlds apart both physically and emotionally?

Nobody writes a hockey romance like Kat Mizera, and she definitely scored with Holding Hailey.

When together, Hailey and Kane burn so hot that it is stunning. They’ve developed a solid long distance friendship, but still aren’t prepared for having to rethink their future. They both have many insecurities thanks to unsupportive families, therefore finding it difficult to both trust and depend on each other. Watching them work to overcome their baggage is a gorgeous struggle.

Kat also catches readers up with Dani and Sergei from book one as well as the rest of the Blizzards. She does an amazing job of having readers feel like they are a part of the team and experiencing what happens both on and off the ice. I also need to give a shout out for Gage! I’ve fallen in love with this character and sincerely hope that Kat has a book in the works for him - he needs his HEA too!

Holding Hailey was a scorching hot emotional read and a great addition to the Alaska Blizzards series. 4.5 stars.

Another couple made in hockey heaven, Mizera never seizes to amaze me with her writing.
Holding Hailey was exceptional, a long distance friendship quickly turned into an all consuming love. Hailey and Kane did not have a conventional relationship, but Mizera made the story work. It was a fast pace, consuming read.

Kane “Hattrick” Hatcher is a professional hockey player with a chip on his shoulder. He’s having a hard time on the ice, but that’s not the only thing consuming his mind. Although he had only been talking to Hailey for a short while, finally meeting her in person sparks more than just a friendship. After finally getting to spend some time with Hailey, the lust coursing through him is undeniable. He can’t stay away and the distance isn’t about to stop him.

Hailey Dobson, an olympic winning hockey star has her life together on the ice, but outside of the ice she is a complete and total disaster. After coming home to a disastrous living situation Hailey is at her wits end. The only positive in her life is her new relationship with Kane. But Hailey iis not expecting that their lust filled encounters would come with life altering consequences.

Kane and Hailey are not only working through a new relationship, now there is another person to consider. Both have their individual demons they have to fight in order to make their relationship work. Mizera gives us a story of a struggling couple trying to deal with a very unexpected curveball. At the end their love for each other surpases the struggles life has thrown their way and we get a beautiful story with a HEA.

This is the second book in the Alaska Blizzard series, although it can be read as a standalone I highly recommend reading book one. Kat Mizera has definitely warmed into my heart with this new series, I can’t wait to see what she will give us in book three.

4.5 captivating stars!

After winning an Olympic medal with the women's hockey team, Hailey Dobson returns home only to find her life has fallen to pieces. She has no job, no place to live, and no money to return to law school. The only bit of happiness that remains is her long-distance romance with NHL star, Kane “Hat-trick” Hatcher.

The chemistry between Hailey and Kane is off the charts and they soon find themselves in a predicament. Hailey is pregnant and neither one of them had plans to be a parent any time soon. Kane convinces Hailey to move across the country to Alaska where he can help her get back on her feet and care for her during her pregnancy.

Hailey has learned from her past that she shouldn't trust anyone but herself and is determined not to depend on Kane for financial or emotional support. Will Kane convince Hailey that he will be by her side through thick and thin? Or will Hailey drive him away in order to protect herself and her unborn child?

(I received an ARC of Holding Hailey from Kat Mizera in exchange for my honest review.)

Holding Hailey is the second novel in the Alaska Blizzard series. In the first novel we caught a glimpse of Kane and Hailey's relationship and book two did not disappoint! Kane and Hailey have a hard time keeping their hands off one another and they find themselves becoming parents much sooner than either one of them had planned for. Their story is filled with lots of hockey, romance, and drama. You won't want to put this book down!

Kat Mizera lights the lamp with HOLDING HAILEY, the second book in the Alaska Blizzard series.  I was anxiously awaiting reading Hailey Dobson and Kane “Hattrick” Hatcher story after discovering them in book one, DEFENDING DANI.  Hailey was on the US Women’s Olympic hockey team with Dani.  Kane is Sergei’s teammate on the new NHL expansion team, the Alaska Blizzard. Hailey and Kane are introduced to each other in book one.  They become online friends after Dani and Sergei virtually introduced them.  Then they finally meet each other at the Olympics.

In book two, Hailey should be on top of the world after winning a gold medal. However, she encounters a bunch of bad luck and less than desirable situations.  Kane surprises Hailey with a visit and talks her into spending the summer with him.  Hailey has a hard time relying on others.  It makes it difficult for her to accept Kane’s help.  Kane had a tough transition with his new team.  He is frustrated professionally.   The two have multiple issues to face.  Kane and Hailey are good for each other.  They trust and understand each other.

The two had difficult childhoods.  I’m glad that Kane had his billet mother, Nancy Fillmore, for support.  She is a wise woman who gives Kane and Hailey excellent advice.

Kat Mizera does an amazing job with this story.  I love how she puts snippets into her stories that end up as relevant issues in her next book.  I enjoy her writing style.  It flows well and is easy to read.  I did not want to put the book down because I had to know what was going to happen next.  I love the characters.  Hailey and Kane are relatable and compelling beings.  They are people viewed as stars by others but are human and have their own set of insecurities.  The story had a great ending.  I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Hailey Dobson has her gold medal from playing hockey in the Olympics and now is ready to return to law school. Things quickly start to fall apart. First, her roommate has all of Hailey’s belongings packed and ready to go. Then her student financing won’t come in time to start the fall semester. She ends up working as a waitress in a strip club and living in a hotel.

Kane Hatcher is a hockey player with the Blizzards, a team in Alaska. He has had a long distance friendship with Hailey for months and finally meets her at the Olympics and they hit it off. He flies across the country to visit her only to see the problems she is facing.

I really felt for Hailey, she is a gold medalist returning to Harvard University. She seems to have so much going for her, but it all falls apart and she is struggling with her finances and her plans for the future. Kane has had a rough life and he is struggling to get his game on with the new team in Alaska. Neither one is ready for what is suddenly in their future.

I really liked the two strong characters and the fact that both of them had their insecurities to overcome if they wanted a life together. This book is among my favorite by this author.

I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

Gosh what a great addition to the Alaska Blizzard series. This is the second book in the Alaska Blizzard series. All of these books could be read as stand alones. So you won't necessarily be missing anything if you dive into this series with this book. In this book we get Hailey and Kane.

I just loved Hailey and Kane..... Kane and Hailey.... However you want to look at it.... Now this is not the first time we get to meet these two characters. We meet them breifly in the first book.

But I thought that they were prefect together. I really enjoyed them together. Even though they got together under not so usual circumstances. Or you could even say they were kind of pushed together because of their circumstances.

I loved how sweet, kind, caring, and protective Kane was. And I loved Hailey's presonality.

I really did enjoy this book and I can't wait for the next one!!!!

I'm giving this book 4 Stars out of 5!!!!

I’m so happy to have read about such a strong and independent female lead! Though it’s considered okay to be read as a stand alone-there’s no way you’re not going to want to go ahead and read the first book in this series, as her supporting characters are even simply addicting!
Hailey was definitely my spirit animal, and I liked how she didn’t just give in when things got tough for her. Kane was also a great character-he was definitely there for Hailey, even when they were first meeting. Though times got tough for this couple, I felt as though there wasn’t a way they couldn’t logically prove that they deserve to be together and their love was real. There was the perfect amount of smut added into this book to leave me fanning myself.
I’m so looking forward to the rest of the books in this series! Hockey players are my weakness and this author has proven she’s capable of writing a wonderful story. -By Victoria

This is book # 2 in the Alaska Blizzard series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For reader understanding and to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading this series in order.

Hailey has just come back from winning a Gold medal and going on tour. She gets home and has many surprises in store. A couple of these surprises are going to change her life completely.

Kane wants to see Hailey again. They met at the Olympics and he was so proud of her winning gold. They have had a couple great dates up to now and the chemistry between them is so hot it should have caught him on fire! He is hoping he can talk her into being with him for a while.

This is a book with the heat turned up. Right from the start you see this couple hot for one another and have much in common, including hockey. The banter is good, the pace is a little fast, but the overall story is right on.

Holding Hailey is the second book in the Alaska Blizzard series. It can be read as a standalone but why not pick up book one (you won't be disappointed). Hailey and Kane but been is a long distance relationship and boy is it steamy. Hailey's roommate and best friend from childhood does her dirty and Hailey is left with no place to live with no money. On top of that she is hit with some unexpected news. Kane shows up looking for Hailey and when she shares her news he too gets unexpected news. Do they have what it takes to make it as a couple?

Hailey is a strong and independent woman. Kane is a strong caring man. His need to take care of her and her need to count on no one but herself of course creates some tension. I loved them individually and as a couple. While they started fast and hot, I loved how they did not just jump into a long term relationship but took the time to know each other before they committed.

After experiencing success on the ice Hailey has run into a few obstacles off the ice when she is betrayed by someone she thought she could trust and finds herself without a home or job and waiting to start law school.

Kane was recently traded to Alaska to play hockey for the team there. From the moment that he and Hailey met a friendship developed but sustaining it when they are so far apart may be difficult. When they have the opportunity to spend the summer together it gives them the opportunity to explore their feelings for each other, but will they be able to handle the twist that life is about to throw their way?

There is no denying the chemistry between them but both Hailey and Kane are independent and self- reliant. In order for them to consider a future together they first must be willing to open their hearts and learn that they are stronger together than apart. 5 STAR Review by Jodi for Ruby Red Romance Review

I love Kat Mizera and her amazing stories. Holding Hailey was no exception to that. I loved Hailey. In a matter of weeks her life turns upside down. No job, no home, and no money, Hailey thinks it's time to move on with her life. Hailey decides to surprise her friend and pen pal Kane. Kane has is own issues, but when Hailey needs help, he's there. Waiting to keep her independence, Hailey tries to push him away, but it doesn't work. Kane is ready to fight for what he wants and that's Hailey and their love.

This book is beautifully written. I loved every second of this story. I loved getting to see our old friends and catching a glimpse of what's to come. Please check out Kat Mizera if you haven't already. I know I love a good book and a great hockey story. Kat is tops at both.

Holding Hailey by Kat Mizera is the second in her Alaska Blizzard series but can be read as a standalone. After winning gold medal at the Olympics you'd think Hailey would have the world at her finger tips but actually she's in a pretty big slump. Kane's last season with the Blizzard seemed like a disaster but meeting and falling for Hailey has been the highlight of his year. Can these two find a rhythm that gets them back into the groove? Or will it prove to much in the end?

I love that this series is about strong, independent women and the superstar athletes who love them. No damsels in distress here! It was a pleasure to follow Hailey & Kanes journey and I truly loved the route we were taken on. 5 Stars for Holding Hailey by Kat Mizera

I love book and this series!
Holding Hailey is a fantastic second book in the Alaska Blizzards series!
This is Kane and Haileys story. Kane plays for the Blizzards and Hailey played on the women’s Olympic hockey team. They have a long distance friendship and finally meet and the sparks fly! When Haileys roommate does her dirty she is left with no home, no job and no money. On top of that she receives some unexpected news. Kane wants to take care of her but Hailey is very independent and wants to take care of herself.
Holding Hailey is a hot, sexy, emotional read that I enjoyed reading! There were some twists that keep you reading! I also enjoyed the way Kat included the characters from the previous stories! I loved being able to catchup with Dani and Sergei from the first book!
Holding Hailey is a fantastic book in a fantastic series! Go read it and you will love it too!

Holding Hailey is amazing. I love this second book in the Alaska Blizzard series. Kane and Hailey have this instant chemistry from the start. As Hailey tries to get back in the swing of things after the Olympics you just want to hug and squeeze her so much. She is a fighter and so independent. Even when she has a hard time accepting help you can't help but to love her so. As for Kane can I just say he is one of my favorites in this series so far. I love how caring he is and how hard he works to over come his dyslexia. Kane and Hailey may seem to have a hot and fast start but I love how they take their time and build this amazing relationship. Seriously they are so hot together. Holding Hailey is everything I was hoping for and more.

The second book in the Alaska Blizzard series and this story follows Hailey and Kane. Both of whom we met in the first book defending Dani.

In this book Kat Mizera writes another wonderful emotional tale of two people and their journey together. It shows that you can plan all you like, but life has its way to throw all your plans in the air and you have to turn in a new way. it is a book that shows how important communication is and that family isn’t about blood, but about being there for eachother and supporting and standing up each other.

I loved every word of this book. It is a beautiful, well written book, with funny, sweet, tender and sexy moments.

Book 2 in the series but can be read as a standalone

Hailey is playing for the women's US Olympic Team. Kane is a hot shot hockey star.. They develop an friendship via text and phone calls while they are both off playing hockey on opposites sides of the country. When Kane's teammate decides to go to the Olympics to surprise his GF, Kane tags along so he can finally meet Hailey. The connection is instant and they really want to get to know each other better. But with Hailey living in Boston and Kane in Alaska how can they make this work?

This one was tough, Kane and Hailey had to deal with some stuff that each hit their hot buttons and they didn't have that long of a history to go from. I thought Kane's billet mom did a great job of giving them advice, just wished that they would have adhered to him more. It didn't help that Kane's POS of a father jumped into shit stir. In the end, both Kane and Hailey had to go with their gut and the trust that they built up, which lead to love for them.

I love this book and this series!!! It is the second in the series, but could be read as a stand alone. You just get more out of the secondary characters if you have read the other Alaska book or the Las Vegas series. Oh the romance! I love how Hailey was a strong woman who has taken care of herself forever. She didnt just cave in and have a man take care of her. She let her burdens be shared instead, like a true partnership. Kane had his own demons to overcome and I love how in the end he stood up for his love. The romance of story was wonderful with the perfect amount of sexy times thrown in.

And oh the peek into what is coming in the next book!!! Looks so good!!! I love the hockey series, all of them, by Kat Mizera. The perfect amount of romance, sexy times, hockey team dynamics, secondary character all with a true plot line. Can't wait for more!

Holding Hailey by Kat Mizera is the second book in the series yet can definitely be a stand-alone. This is the first time for me reading a book by this author and I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed the story and the characters very much so.

Hailey was on such a high with her Olympic medal but it all came crashing down once she returned home. She had no job, no money and no idea how she would be able continue with law school. Her only happy place was her long distance correspondence and relationship with Kane.

Kane, hockey player with some issues. He is an amazing player yet when his game starts to fall apart and the coach is bugging him the only thing he can focus on his Hailey.

When events bring them together what is left leaves them shocked and unprepared. It takes both of them to push past their own issues and come together to be there for each other.

Loved the characters and the story. Definitely wished I had read the first in the series just to know the secondary characters more. Look forward to more from this wonderful writer.

I am loving this new series by Kat Mizera!

I first discovered Kat Mizera halfway through her Las Vegas Sidewinders series and I totally fell in love with her style of writing. So, when she released this new series, Alaska Blizzard, I knew I had to give it a try. I'd never had much interest in the sport of Hockey but Mizera completely hooked me.

Kane and Hailey's book was a very emotional read for me, and I love how real-life situations are woven into the story. Just because the characters are hockey players doesn't mean they don't encounter everyday issues. They're real human beings, dealing with day-to-day issues just like everyone else.

What I enjoyed most was how genuine Kane was. He and Hailey found themselves in a situation and he was determined to be there for her, regardless of how she wanted to deal with things on her own. The chemistry they shared was magnetic and they two of them truly deserved one another.

What blows me away is how each book that Kat Mizera writes, just gets better and better. She's definitely found her niche with her hockey players! Another fantastic read that you'll devour.
