All application materials, fees, and images must be received by the deadline: March 5th, 2018.
The Festival will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018, rain or shine!

Failure to submit all of these components in time may result in your application not being considered.

2018 EMERGING ARTISTS APPLICATION GUIDELINES
New this year, up to 8 Emerging Artists will participate in a segregated area at the Lewisburg Arts Festival on April 28, 2018. Please read the following information carefully to apply for this unique opportunity to show and sell.

ELIGIBILITY
All artists and crafters living within a 60 mile radius of Lewisburg, PA, professional or amateur, who have never shown their work in a festival setting, even those with limited inventory, are invited to enter. All entries are juried, and the judges reserve the right to limit the entries due to duplications or lack of space. All items must be hand-crafted by the entrant - not a consortium of artists -  who must be present at the Festival. But s/he may have helpers to show/sell.

FESTIVAL BOOTH
The Lewisburg Arts Council will provide tables for display and/or transactions beneath one large, communal tent.  Tables are 8' in length. The area will be promoted with banners and explanatory signage indicating and promoting the tent as housing New and Emerging Artists.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
If selected as an Emerging Artist, you will be required to work with one of our Arts Council mentors who will help prepare for success and future participation in art festivals.  If you are not willing to work with the mentor, please do not submit an application.
HOW TO ENTER
1. ALL ARTISTS must submit a completed and signed online application. All application materials must be received by March 5, 2018.
 
2. ARTISTS must email 3 quality images of your work to emergingartists@lewisburgartscouncil.com . Images must accurately represent the nature and quality of the work to be exhibited.  Please see image standard below.  Rename jpeg images as follows:        Last Name First Name_2018_Image number  If you use a business name for your art, please include it in the image name as well.    (Ex: SmithBetty_TheArtLady_2018_1.jpg)

3. Write ONE CHECK made payable to “The Lewisburg Arts Council”  which is a non-refundable JURY FEE of $12.50 and mail to: The Lewisburg Arts Council, PO Box 418, Lewisburg, PA 17837

4. You will receive an email from the Emerging Artist Committee by the end March with the results of the jury process and an invoice for your BOOTH FEE ($50).  You will be able to pay online, or mail in with a copy of your invoice.  

*IMAGE STANDARDS for submitting digital images - please follow the “Red Dot” standard as adopted by the National Association of Independent Artists. The 1920 x 1920 pixel format is large enough to show important detail and can be used by any show.

1. Preferred Dimensions: Approximately 1920 pixels x 1920 pixels (measured in pixels, NOT dpi or "dots per inch",    
        approximately 2 MB file size).
2. File Format: Save all images as a JPEG.
3. File Size: JPEGs must be under 2.0 MB.
4. Color space: Save images in RGB color space, preferably sRGB
5. File Name: Last NameFirst Name_festival year_image number  (If you use a business name for your art, please include it in the image name as well.
                     (Example: SmithBetty_TheArtLady_2018_1.jpg)
6. Short descriptions of the work may be included in the email.

WAIVER: The undersigned does hereby release, forever discharge, and hold harmless the Lewisburg Arts Council from all actions, suits, damages or claims whatsoever rising from any loss or damage to any property of the undersigned while in the possession or supervision of the festival, its agents, representatives or employees and hereby consents to enforcement of all Festival rules. The undersigned understands that the submission of work to the Lewisburg Arts Festival and its sponsor, The Lewisburg Arts Council, constitutes an agreement of conditions set forth herein, considers this application a commitment to show and realized that no refunds will be made for cancellations after 4/9/2018. I acknowledge that I have read the conditions of entry and that if my work does not conform to the regulations and/or is misrepresented in my descriptions or images, or if I violate any of the festival rules, the Committee reserves the right to request removal of objectionable items or to terminate my reservation without refund. If I am asked to leave for any reason, I will do so. Decisions of the Lewisburg Arts Council committees are final and binding. (Please print name below as your signature)
Two additional steps are required for your application to be officially submitted:
1.  Please email your images in (.jpg format) to emergingartists@lewisburgartscouncil.com. Please include three pictures of your artwork. By submitting these images you are giving the Lewisburg Arts Council permission to reproduce the photos for Festival promotion in print or digital form.

2.  Please submit a $12.50 jury fee by check or money order to: The Lewisburg Arts Council PO Box 418 Lewisburg, PA 17837. *Please see "Emerging Artist Application Guidelines" available on the Lewisburg Council website for more information.
