Bennett Brothers #3

Recklessly Devoted

Rate this book
Cassy Campbell

For one night of fun I kissed a man whose name I never cared to know. I pushed down all of the rules I had in place for myself with this one act of selfishness. No one had to know, and I could lie to myself that it never happened. People don’t remember tourists, and neither should I. It’s not like he was marriage material anyway.
No one is more surprised than me when a year goes by and that tourist becomes my freakishly hot, annoying, cocky neighbor who looks at me like a predator stalking his prey.
He is everything I was told to never go for, yet I can’t escape this feeling of being drawn to him.

Brody Bennett

After surviving a military accident, my entire future is in shambles, the only life I’ve ever known ripped from me. Attempting to run from my ego, I find myself in the small town of Three Rivers, where I can forget my problems and annoy my two younger brothers. Misery loves company, right?
It doesn’t take long for my sights to narrow in on an incredibly sexy blonde. The problem is she looks at me like she wants to squish me like a bug.
As shocking twists and deadly truths spiral out of control, I am forced to fight for the people who matter most in my life.
Rules are broken, hearts are trampled, and the lies that hold everything perfectly in place are torn down.

description~WRITING - PLOT - PACE~
This book was my favorite of the series by FAR. These two were hilarious. Immature as hell, but oh so so funny. I also thought the writing in this one was a step up from the previous two books. The pace remained very good. The plot was engaging and kept me turning the pages. It had a nice little mystery aspect to it that comes into play about halfway through the book, and I found that quite an enjoyable addition. It was funny. It was sweet. It had a ton of feels. Last, it was all wrapped up in a very sweet series ending epilogue.

~HERO~
BRODY...I seriously LOVED Brody's character. He was so immature at times with his pranks, but you just couldn't help but love the guy. He was also sweet. He was smokin' hot. He was ex-military. He was damaged. He wasn't a manwhore. He was all about Cassy. He was a perfect book boyfriend.

~HEROINE~
CASSY...I loved Cassy just as much as Brody. She was just an immature as him with her pranks, but again, you couldn't help but love her feistiness. She was sweet. She was a great friend. She was independent. She was strong. She was all about Brody...eventually (lol). And bonus, she wasn't a VIRGIN and had a great sex life prior to Brody.

description

~SECONDARY CHARACTERS~
This book was full of great secondary characters. All the couples from previous books along with a few extra old and new faces. I really hope the author plans on writing a book for Luke <--- I actually thought that maybe the author was going to pair him with a certain sister, but the epilogue dissuaded me of that hope. I would also love to see Mara get a book.

~HEAT LEVEL~
Medium. There were some suitably how sex scenes in this one and the frequency felt organic to the story.

~ANGST LEVEL~
Low. I didn't find this one angsty at all. There are some acrimonious scenes as this couple tries to one-up each other, but I found that more humorous than angsty. Once they settle their differences, they are a solid couple. There was no OW or OM drama. There is a separation of one year from when they first attempt a one night stand until they meet again. The hero was celibate for that year. I am not sure if the heroine was as it was never mentioned. That said, they didn't even know each other's names, so even if she had sex with OM I wouldn't have cared.

~IN THE END~
I enjoyed the hell out of this one. The writing was kicked up a notch. The plot was engaging and funny. The added mystery aspect was a great addition. I laughed. I cried. I hated to see it end. I am glad the author is going to continue to write some books set in Three Rivers, and that we will be seeing all these characters again at some point. Yours truly is going to give this one two HUGE thumbs up.description

Recklessly Devoted by Emily Bowie I five-star read that you will be devoted to. This is the third book in the Bennett Brothers series and those brothers just get more mischievous and hot with each book. This time it’s the turn of big brother Brody Bennett, he’s been away in the military for a long time and come back a different man, a broken man in his eyes. Bu can what was broken be fixed by his new neighbour? Or will he leave her in a compromising position again? The neighbour in question is Three Rivers town sweetheart Cassy Campbell who comes with her own set of fears and worries and is more in need of a strong shoulder than she realises, and is definitely not in need of the roots in her garden killing but good girl Cassy wouldn’t do anything wrong about those would she? The tree story was one of my highlights of the book, it was so naughty and showed us a side of Cassy that I loved, I only wished we got to see more of it. The whole story was great, there was plenty of everything in it, romance, drama and enough suspense at the end that it makes your heart run faster.
Emily Bowie thank you for being amazing, what will you give us next? I can only dream and wait and possible lightly stalk.

It is always emotional to write the final book of a series. It was really hard for me to let go of these characters. I hope you love this book as much as I did writing it!!

Secrets can be deadly. Add to it changed attitude. Bad decisions. Careless actions. Hmmm seems to sum up Brody really nicely. But first impressions aren't always true and can be deceptive. Brody and Cassy's story isn't clean and neat and while it's funny watching their antics it doesn't last. This author gives us a sexy tale of their love that flourishes through the lies and deceit not only from Brody but from Cassy's family. When all is said and done their story is fun and enjoyable and entertaining with some excitement and intrigue and even some suspense. Basically all you can possibly want in a great read.

This author does it well and it goes right along with the wonderful crazy that is the Bennet Brothers through and through. Love the guys but their women are kick a$$ and round it all out nicely.

My first Emily Bowie book and it was a great read!
Brody was hot and I loved seeing him and Cassy together, especially the banter! Lord knows I love me some banter.
This is the third book in the series, but can be read as a standalone.

Congrats, Emily!

With this being my first Emily Bowie book and the third book in the series, I didn’t know what to expect. I liked it, I was throughly entertained by it actually, but I felt like something was missing. To me it felt like it was missing the emotional connection.

Apart from missing the emotional connection, I enjoyed the story and was entertained by the pranks and antics of Cassy and Brody. The thing with the trees was my favorite and it was funny that Brody never realized even with the subtle hints. They had a connection from the beginning, but I applaud Cassy for walking away after the phone call. I also liked the twist at the end and the little bit of suspense. I feel like I was missing out on things that went on with the other characters so I’m going to go back and reread them.

*** ARC Received for Honest Review ***

I couldn't believe how quickly I was drawn into this book. Especially considering I had not read the first two. I wish I had read the first two though, not just because I was a little lost when references were made to prior stories, but mainly because the other relationships would have been amazing to read about.

It was so cute to see Brody Bennett, aka Casanova, being reduced to his knees by Cassy. The interplay between the two, especially the pranks was so much fun. There was absolutely no denying the pull between the two, but seeing them try to fight it was great. I completely recommend this book.(Review by Terri "Jane")

****ARC Received for Honest Review****

Well, we had to do a little begging and pleading to get this ARC because we love us some Emily Bowie and I was not disappointed. I read the second Bennett Brothers book and was hooked, and this third book in the series was just as great. I love how Emily weaved in the sexual chemistry of Brody and Cassy and the amazing suspense and drama.

It was great to see a Bennett brother go after a girl, especially one like Cassy who seems to be unwilling to be courted or loved, and Brody not take no for an answer. Another great book from Emily Bowie….-Review by Catherine(Catty)

This is the first book that I have read by Emily. I loved it. It was very enjoyable from the beginning to the end. Cassy and Brody meet and almost hook up in the parking lot of the bar but he has to take a phone call which leaves them both not getting what they want. Brody ends up buying a house to start over and Cassy ends up being his neighbor. Hold on because that is where things start to get interesting. I absolutely loved how these two got started. Brody steals her eggs from her chickens. Things escalate from there. The chemistry between these two is enjoyable. I loved reading how these two get together and try to build a relationship. This is a great lovable book that is very enjoyable.I loved reading it. Highly recommend. Cant wait to read more.

I have really enjoyed reading about the Bennett Brothers, and Brody's story in Recklessly Devoted is my favorite of the three. Just something about him and Cassy that tugged at my heart. These two were hilarious, a bit silly at times, but the connection and drama totally made the story!

The little down of Three Rivers has certainly had its share of delightful men. The whole setup with the Bennett brothers and the women that have come into their lives makes this series so entertaining. They are real men that truly care about their women. Brody just captured my heart a little more and I felt that connection with him. I have to add, too, that the cover for Recklessly Devoted is hot! I could actually envision it being Brody.

I feel like I've grown up with these characters. To watch their stories unfold and how the series ended really warms my heart. Emily Bowie's writing got so much better with each story too. If you love devoted men then this book, as well as the other two books in the series, will definitely put a smile on your face. Be prepared for some deliciousness!

I actually haven't read the others in this series but I sure want to! Cassy and Brody's story is so real! And pretty dang funny but also brings forth the feels, so know that going in.

Also, I won't lie, repeatedly I kept calling this Hopelessly Devoted in my head and then singing the song ala Grease. I'm glad it wasn't like that at all. But nonetheless, I still have that song in my head when I read the title. So I'm sorry for anyone who gets that in their heads. #sorrynotsorry.

I definitely feel like Cassy is my spirit animal. Here she lets go, picks up the hot guy only to get blocked by him. And then to find out he's her neighbor?? Oh the luck.

I'm definitely going back and reading books 1 & 2 and then 3 again so I get the whole Bennett Brother experience!

This book was so good I couldn't put it down. I'm a sucker for a man in a uniform. Brody Bennett is the empitone of hero and because of an injury he was sidelined. He feels things have to change, but he's to stubborn to do anything about it. He loves his family and moved to Three Rivers to be with them. It's time to be one his own and get his head out of his butt. What he doesn't realize is the girl that is about to do it for him. Her sassy attitude and gorgeous body is what sucked him in. Cassy Cambell knows that she's not the same as other because she has a heart, but she decides to do things differently what she doesn't realize is she's about to meet her match with her one night stand. These two have the bantering down pat. But for Brody he's holding back and for Cassy she needs to be strong. These two will will make you fall in love with them.

All the feels!

A funny, sweet, emotional, and suspenseful ride, Recklessly Devoted is impossible to put down!

After a quick encounter in a parking lot, Cassy and Brody are sure they'll never cross paths again. Imagine their surprise when they end up as next door neighbors?! As pranks go awry and messing with each there becomes their new norm, Brody grows determined to make Cassy his as she aims to resist all his charms - and he is crazy charming!

As with Emily Bowie's other books, this one contains hidden plot twists, surprises, and suspense. A fantastic read and a beautiful ending to the series, Recklessly Devoted is FIVE STARS!

Recklessly Devoted is the end of the Bennett Brothers… I’m so sad! However, Emily Bowie sure went out with a bang! Brody was the best book yet! Bowie’s writing has blossomed over this three books and I just can’t adore this group any more than I already do! I’m a bit sad, I feel like I get so close to the people after so many books. Bowie sure put Brody and Cassy through the ringer! I was so mad at Brody… like I wanted to woop that man! However, when he gives his heart though, he gives all of him. He finally won me over! Cassy was adorable and I loved her spunk! Brody and Cassy were good for each other. They brought a good balance to each other.

I was so sad to see this is the last Bennett Brother books but Bowie has given us some fantastic secondary characters that I know she can write some fantastic spin offs! Luke… oh Luke, we all love to hate you the most! I can’t wait to see how Mrs. Bowie redeems you! I’d also love to see Mara’s story and how Tori’s story came about. I just want more and I’m hoping Emily Bowie will give it!

4 sad it’s over stars!!! I am so sad this series is over!!!!

This is book 3 in the “Bennett Brothers” series and sadly that’s all the brothers they have!! This can be read as a stand alone but there are three yummy brothers... read them all!!!

♥️This is Brody and Cassy’s story...

Cassy~ All I wanted was one night?!?! How did one night with a crazy hot tourist (which didn’t even end the way I planned) end up a year later to the neighbor from hell!! Does he have to look that good all the time?!?!

Brody~ So an unplanned injury ends my career time to book it back to Three Rivers where my brothers (and their beautiful girlies) are. Ladies love me but for some reason I can’t get the hottie next door to succumb to my charms..

💭My thoughts...

Wow I love me so Brody!! These were a great trio of
Books and brothers!! The broody military man, what isn’t to love. And the sheltered but fun and sexy girl next door. What a cute couple!! I love the dynamic between all of
the characters. I’ve grown to love Three Rivers.

This books characters probably were my favorite but I felt a little distant from them. I’m not sure why but it just wasn’t a strong feeling. But these two make the trio of couples just perfect!!

This was a great, quick read. And if you haven’t already check out Chase and Tyson’s stories!!

**I received this book as an ARC and in return gave my honest review**

Recklessly Devoted by Emily Bowie is the third book in the Bennett Brothers series. This was my first Emily Bowie book so I didn’t know what to expect. What I found was a sweet and emotional contemporary romance read. Cassy and Brody are kind of opposite yet they do make sense. Cassy has a fun, sweet, easygoing way about her. Brody is more drawn, quiet, a military man who has seen too much pain and despair than one man ever should. Their chemistry was jumping off of the charts. There were twists and turns in the final Bennett Brothers book. The plot was engaging and kept me turning until the very end. I will say there were certain points in the book that had me wondering where the emotions were. It was like, we had the emotions and then there seemed to be a disconnect. Otherwise, this was a sweet and good read that had me reading until the very end with all the plot twists that were popping up. I liked Cassy and Brody as a couple. I loved the epilogue for all wrapped up in a very sweet ending .

This is an exciting emotional rollercoaster ride to find happiness. When Brody came back from a tour of duty he wasn't the same. he never let his family know he's won a purple heart. His injury is more painful than he will ever let on.But his emotional scars run deep.He met Casey one night a year ago but screwed things up by answering the phone. It wasn't like he had a choice still being in the military at the time.He was honorably discharged but had ptsd.He fought against going to therapy because he was taught real !an don t discuss their feelings. When his brother and girl friend tell him it's time he got a house he's hurt an says sorry I guess I've worn out my welcome. Will Brody who was always the romantic brother doesn't know how to win Cassy his brothers tease him .Will the two stop fighting enough to realize the they have found the one? The twists and turns to this story will keep you riveted until the very last page.I can hardly wait to see what's next by this multi talented author.I voluntarily decided to review this advanced reader copy because it's a great adult suspense filled romance story.

There was a lot of good stuff happening here. It has a neighborly enemies-to-lovers trope. There's insta-lust that and you can feel the chemistry from the pages. Cassy is a very sassy and independent heroine, but perhaps a little OTT. Brody is an ex-military bad boy who is a classic alpha and also dealing with some PTSD. And you're rooting for them as a couple from the get-go.

It was all working and was a solid funny & sexy read for me. But then, around 75% everything goes haywire. It's like a million bombs go off at once and the plot and twists and drama just come at you full force. It just came out of nowhere and didn't feel natural which lost the story for me.

But, at the end of the day, it was still a super enjoyable couple to read.

Cassy and Brody are kind of opposite but they are super drawn to each other. Cassy has a fun, loving, easy going spirit about her. Brody is more closed off, military guy who has seen more tragedy than most. At first I didn't know where the story was going with the different characters but once the story got going, I was pulled in. I didn't know it was going in those directions. I liked it. I liked that it was unpredictable, and it kept me interested. Would definitely recommend to others.

This is the third and final book in the Bennett Brothers Series and this is big brother Brody Bennett's books. After seeing glimpses of him in the previous book I was intrigued for his story.

Brody has followed a different path to his brother by entering the military and after being wounded in action he is out the army and trying to find his place. He puts on a brave front for his brothers but he is a broken man. Its only when he realises the girl living next door is his almost one night stand that got away and has been playing on his mind, that he feels like he can start living again.

The chemistry between Brody and Cassy is off the charts scorching red. They are almost opposites but they work so well together. Cassy is the towns sweetheart, she's sweet, kind and caring, whereas Brody is a dark and brooding alpha male.

Once i started this book I could not put it down, it had everything I enjoy in a book, drama, steam, intrigue, suspense and some interesting twists and turns.

Another great read from Emily Bowie

I really enjoyed the plot of this story; I was immediately drawn into the story and the lives of Cassy and Brody. The pranks they played on each other were funny, although some of Brody’s actions were a bit childish in my opinion.

I was a little disappointed at the execution of the suspense. In my opinion, I felt like it needed more and was over a little too quick.

Overall, I enjoy Bowie’s writing, even though it’s sometimes worldly a bit awkwardly. And for this one, I loved the epilogue. I also loved getting to see old friends intertwined with these characters.
